4 years ago; Mia's pov"Daddy!" I shouted when I saw his broad figure finally walking inside the house. I hadn't seen him in forever and I felt so happy when I saw his shadow strolling through the door.
Dad walked in and closed the door gently behind him. He had his infamous navy blue suit on his broad body and his black hair was slicked back like he always had. I always thought it was so awesome to be him and I really looked up to him.
He was my hero and I wanted to be just like him when I get older.
Dad put his briefcase down to the floor as he crouched down a little and opened his arms just before I crashed into him. I wrapped my tiny arms around his neck and squeezed him tightly to me.
Dad straightened up his full form that my feet got released from the ground because he was a foot taller than me.
I giggled when he lifted me and snuggled closer to him, smelling his cologne that I liked so much. "I've missed you kiddo." Dad rubbed my back, up and down, almost making me fall asleep in his arms.
I have missed him so much and to think I didn't even know why he was gone only increased it. Mom said he was away on a business trip but the way mom sighed right before she said that got me thinking that she lied.
Mom was a terrible liar.
"I've missed you, dad," I mumbled in his shoulder before he released me and put me down on the ground.
I gazed up at dad and smiled at him while clasping my hands together excitedly. I was always excited when he came home. Dad gazed ahead of me and I turned my head around to see what he was looking at.
Mom came in from the kitchen and smiled at him. They have always been in love with each other and I have never seen their love fading. I moved a step back, still looking at dad, afraid he was going to disappear.
Dad took a step to mom when she was close enough and pecked her lips before they hugged.
"How did it go?" Mom asked after she pulled away from the hug. Suddenly, the feeling of the tension getting thinker erupted with only that question. I tilted my head when I saw that my dad got awfully uncomfortable by that. I couldn't understand why. He looked displeased.
A frown made it on my face when the air suddenly became anxious.
Das turned around to me and gazed down at me with his stormy grey eyes. I have always wondered why I didn't get his eyes because his eyes were one of the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen. His eyes reminded me of that silver medal I've in my room, hooked on my wall from a gymnastics competition. I remember I was feeling down that day but dad cheered me up when he saw the saddens in my eyes and told me to never give up. And when I got a silver medal around my neck I gazed at dad as he stood in the crowd and clapped his hands, looking right in my eyes with those silver melting eyes of his. I responded with a wide toothing smile. That's why I love his eyes so much because they reminded me that everything is possible, you just have to believe it first.
"Why don't you go and get those pictures you wanted to show me while me and mommy talk?" Dad questioned in a sweet tone he always had while talking to me, but this time I could hear almost being too sweet. But as for me, I didn't think further about it as I nodded my head excitedly and started bouncing to the stairs.
