The door to Mia's room got shut closed as she now stood alone by herself in her darkroom. Aiden had roughly pushed past Colton by his shoulder— it was obvious to show displeasure to him.
"Wait... do you have to go?" Mia had once said when Aiden made a move to walk out and grasped his wrist with a pleading look on her face.
It took a couple of silent seconds for Aiden to respond. He twisted his wrist out of Mia's hold as he said, "it's late."
And then just turned around without looking back, roughly hitting Colton's shoulder, and then disappeared out of her room.
Mia didn't want him to go. She wanted him to stay, even if it was late. She really enjoyed being in his company even if he was so scary to her. She had feelings for him. And she even told him. The reaction was better than she thought would happen.
She shifted on her feet as she didn't hear anything anymore except her heartbeat. She knew Aiden wasn't going to come back so she pouted and moved to her bathroom where she brushed her teeth.
It felt so unreal. Was Aiden really going to do what Mia thought he would do before Colton opened her door? What would happen if they didn't get interrupted? Those thoughts left her blushing as she walked out of her bathroom and changed to more comfortable clothes before she laid down on her bed, tucked herself in with a sigh. She took her teddy bear in her arms as hugged it close to her.
Either way, it could have been worse than Mia imagined. And even though she didn't want Aiden to leave, she just knew that she would see him again the next day, and that left the short girl a smile on her face as she closed her eyes in her quiet peaceful room.
Although downstairs, it wasn't exactly that peaceful.
Aiden walked down the stairs, obvious that the idiotic asshole was walking behind him, glaring holes behind his head. He took his time on each step, wasn't really in a hurry as for all he knew Colton interrupted him, and now he was irritated and he was obviously showing it.
He got down the stairs, clenching hard his jaws together as he headed to the door. He wanted to get out of there, he knew if he stayed more than five seconds he would tackle that man down and he knew he was going to get shit for that. From someone upstairs, having dark blue eyes.
He was almost out, just a little more for his hand to touch the handle but it was too late. He didn't get the chance before that fucker himself just had to speak.
He was standing behind Aiden, just by the end of the stairs as he spoke in a rather low voice, "I prefer you don't come around here from now on." Aiden's eyes snapped up from the handle as his hand froze midway to it.
His eyes got hard as stone and cold as ice as his outstretched hand clenched into a fist. "Like I give a shit," Aiden snapped in a mumble before he moved to the handle again but stopped once he heard a gruesome chuckle coming from Colton.
His back got rigid as the man behind him responded, "but I 'give a shit'. You see," Colton cleared his throat as Aiden withdrew his hand back. The way Colton spoke, Aiden took it as a challenge.
'It's always a challenge once your opponent speaks back.'
"I know you, Aiden Martinez," Colton spat out his last name like venom, that annoyingly proud look on his face, telling him he won a fucking trophy. Aiden turned around with that, looking down at the man with crossed arms over his chest, glaring up at the tall frame of Aiden.
"I know you're a bad person that only wants to destroy people's happiness." He continued to spat out, almost sounding in his voice that he was so sure about what he was saying— so determined.
