Mia couldn't interpret her joy within her when her eyes fell on a tall dark-haired gorgeous-supermodel-of-a-friend Maddox standing, not too far away from her, and having her well-known raised eyebrow look whenever she beholds something that amused her.

Mia's mouth fell open at the same time as her eyes, overwhelming from all the thoughts of her missing her best friend flashed before her eyes. This was all she could think of. Her best friend. Standing in front of her.

But she looked better than Mia thought she would. Not to be like that, but she thought Maddox would have held some kind of marking on her body since that fight looked quite horrible. Maddox didn't wear a single scratch or mark that could be proof she had been in a brawl. No, nothing. She still looked as good as she did before. Maybe even better.

Mia wasn't surprised, Maddox was quite a good fighter. Where she got it from- she had no idea.

But the thought of her best friend and her actually being in front of her caused Mia to bolt towards her- not caring about her injured foot and attacked her in a massive tight bear hug, clinging onto her best friend she had never done before. However, Maddox tensed up at the sudden skin contact Mia was bestowing but quickly shook out off it as her arms went around Mia's waist.

"Oh my God. Oh my God. Ohmygosh! You're alive," Mia mumbled astonished against Maddox's neck as she clung on her neck like a koala. From all the shock and surprise surging through Mia's body, she knew without a doubt, without seeing, Maddox was rolling her eyes at her childish behavior.

"Yes, Mia, I'm alive," she rubbed Mia's back gently as her playful voice reached her ears.

Suddenly Mia ripped away from Maddox in a sharp movement as her wide blue orbs scanned her best friend's face.

Maddox got shocked by the sudden gesture as she blinked slowly to catch up on what was happening. Mia looked to be all in her "protecting mode"- as she used to call it, and squeezed Maddox's cheeks, ran her fingers down her face, to her throat, and then tapped her hands down her shoulders and arms like a way to see if she had any injuries laying under her clothes.

Not like she could feel them anyway.

Maddox grew annoyed at Mia's worried self, she grabbed her small hands that were glued to her body and pushed them gently away, "Mia relax," she chuckled, "I'm fine I-"

"You don't feel any pain? No arch or-or maybe a headache? If so I have painkillers in my bag- or at home, maybe, I-I don't remember but anyway you-"

Mia's ramble stopped when Maddox clapped her hand over her none stopping mouth and smiled weakly. Hot and red became Mia's cheeks when she realized she had been rambling like a creepy fish and not letting Maddox talk or even explain.

She had her eyes widen as her best friend started explaining, "nothing. And nothing special happened after either way except I beat Ember's ass like a bitch I think I deserved getting suspended for a week." Maddox brushed it off like never before and If it was possible, Mia's eyes thrived larger at the agony words she heard. Her skin tingled at the bothered thought that Maddox couldn't come to school anymore.

She would be all alone. Well- if you didn't count Aiden in... but she was sure he didn't want to hang out with a loser like her in school.

"You- you going to leave me a-all alone here?" Mia's bottom lip started to wobble as she spoke with a shaky voice.

Maddox sighed heavily. She was expecting that answer from her. Mia was extremely shy and really didn't like talking to anyone but Maddox and now she had to wander off inside those walls by herself.
