When your a friend of the Hale family and you come back a few years after the fire. You were looking for Kate Argent the whole time

You grabbed your bag,swinging it over your shoulder. You looked up at the burnt Hale house. You had hated that you didn't find her.
You slowly walked up to the house. You didn't know what to say.
You walked into the house,immediately being attacked. He looked up at you,stopping.
"(Y/N)?"

Derek let go of you,realizing it was you.
"When did you get here?"

Footsteps approached,and there stood Peter
"(Y/N)?"

Before you cold answer Peter wrapped you in a hug.  You stood there,awkwardly.(me asf)
"Hi."

They both looked at you,worried
"Wait,why are you back? We thought you left,not wanting to come back to Beacon Hills."

"I was. But,it was to find Kate. And I couldn't find her. Sorry,guys. I really-"

"Hey,(Y/N),it's okay. You don't have to worry."

"Why not?"

"She's dead."
