"Fuck man" I yelled loudly as I watched Celine drive off.

Across the lot, I saw a white couple staring at me, "the fuck you looking at?!" I shouted with annoyance in my voice successfully scaring them off.

They probably knew who I was, but they were being nosy as hell like damn look the fuck away.

Sucking my teeth, I walked to my car before opening the door and hopping in.

The drive to my Momma's house allowed me to really think about the conversation we just had. The points she made rang through my head. I mean sure I missed a couple appointments, but I still checked in on her occasionally.

I wanted to go to the first one, but I had to take my Momma to her chemo appointment.

Celine didn't know that and frankly, nobody knew about that. I keep it to myself because I didn't want pity, I was good on that.

I have a legitimate excuse for missing that one, but the other five I really didn't. It just slipped my mind.

Well, that one prior, I knew about but Jasmine would not let me leave. I mean her mouth was out of this world not even gonna front.

Okay, maybe I was slacking a lot.

"Fuck" I mumbled to myself

Celine was right, I wasn't gonna tell her she was right, but she was right. It didn't take me long to realize that.

Pulling up to my Momma's place, I parked the car.

When I told my Moms I got somebody pregnant, I didn't expect the reaction I got. Her ass said, "Thank God I'll be alive to see my first grandchild"

It hurt hearing her say that because she was pretty much saying she didn't have much longer to live.

She was only fifty-two.

I replied to her in the only way I could and replied back, "don't be saying that, you gonna be around for everything. Even the day I decide to tie myself down and get married"

Sighing, I stepped out of the car making sure to grab the ultrasound pictures I got for her.

Walking up to the door, I rang the doorbell and waited.

It took a couple seconds before the door was finally opened, to reveal my little brother—well not so little anymore as he had just turned seventeen.
