"You're Lance correct?" I asked after opening the door.
He nodded curtly.
Where did Chris find this dude? The damn FBI agency?
"Can I see some ID at least, I know I'm not letting a complete rando in here?" I asked as I held the door handle
Call me paranoid, but I inched the door slightly close in case he was a lunatic.
Reaching into his jacket pocket, he pulled out his wallet and showed me his license that was held behind a clear plastic.
"Okay then, come in" I said opening the door wider.
Stepping inside he surveyed the area before planting himself by the door.
"You want anything to eat or drink? I'm making a sandwich?" I asked nicely
"I ate and my lunch and dinner are in my bag, so no thank you" he said in a clipped voice
I didn't take notice of the bag he was holding until now surprisingly.
Upon a quick scan over, Lance seemed like the type to take his job very seriously, so I decided I wasn't gonna bother him anymore.
"Alrighty" I said turning my heel heading back to the kitchen to finish making my food.
When I finished making my sandwich, I grabbed a bag of chips from the pantry and made my way, food in hand, to the living room.
Placing my food down on the coffee table, I rang up my close friend Fatima.
But then I immediately ended the call. I forgot that everyone of my friends were currently at work.
This sucks.
Sighing I grabbed my plate and grabbed the remote hoping to find something to watch.
As I ate, I shot small glances at Lance. He had stayed in the same position this whole time.
I know I said I wouldn't bother him but–
"You could sit down you know" I said raising an eyebrow
"Thanks for the offer" he said before continuing to stand in the same position
Rolling my eyes, I looked away.
Way to pick 'em Chris.
