I was a bit anxious leaving home to attend this dinner. Not because I didn't trust Chris to watch him, but because this would be the first time I'll be away from Jalen.
Shaking off that feeling, I hopped into my car and began the drive to Grape Vine.
As I was driving, my phone started ringing. I had my phone hooked on to my car's Bluetooth so I pressed the answer button after seeing Andrew's name pop up on the screen.
"Hello?" I said
"Hey, you on your way?" Andrew asked
"Yep, I should be there in a few" I responded back
Grape Vine wasn't too far away from my home, so I knew it wouldn't take me too long to get there.
"Okay, everyone's starting to arrive now. I just got here myself" he informed as I heard a car door shut in the background.
"Alright then, I'll be there like four minutes or so. But, uh, quick question? whose the reservation under?" I asked
"its under my last name, East. Food's on me tonight" Andrew said
"Okay good to know" I said as I nodded
"Well, see you soon then" he said
"Aright bye" I said before pressing end on the call
It didn't take me long to get there after the call ended.
Pulling up to the curb, I parked my car as I watch valet come around to the driver's side.
Opening my door I stepped out handing him my keys before heading over to the Valet stand to pay.
"Enjoy your evening" the man said as he handed me my Valet ticket.
Saying a short "thank you", I headed straight inside.
It seemed Grape Vine was extremely lively this Friday night as I took in the atmosphere inside.
Walking over to the hostess, I spoke up catching her attention.
"Reservation for East?" I said to her in a business like manner getting straight to the point. Everyone was probably waiting for me, so I didn't want to waste any time.
Setting her gaze on me she smiled, "let me just double check the table"
Looking down at a list she began to scan it, as stood patiently waiting.
"Okay, right this way" she said giving me a smile.
Following behind her as we approached the table. Andrew was the first to notice my presence as he quickly stood up from the table to greet me.
"Celine I'm so glad you made it" he said coming over and giving me a quick hug "you look amazing"
"Thank you and thank you for the invite" I said back with a bright smile
