"Why you all dressed up like that?" I asked Chris who was in a button up shirt and slacks.
After spending some time to myself in my room, I was able to control my emotions better and calm down. I was still a bit disappointed, but I was going to brush it off cause I knew my parents would be here soon anyway.
"You're parents are coming, I didn't want to look bummy" he shrugged not taking his eyes off the TV.
That was definitely a bit a sarcasm from me calling him a bum earlier.
"They should be here in a couple minutes" I said back before heading back to my room to pick up Jalen and move him to the second bassinet left in the living room.
Luckily Chris bought multiples of everything because it was already coming in handy.
Picking him up carefully, Jalen begin to scrunch up his face.
"Aw don't cry, don't cry, don't cry—it's okay. We are just taking a small trip" I cooed to him softly as I placed him on my chest and rubbed his back to calm him down.
Maybe it's a new mom thing, but whenever I saw him about to cry I felt myself about to cry. Maybe it's cause my hormones are still out of balance, but I swear everything he does gets me emotional.
Walking with him into the living room, I saw Chris place the hotel phone down.
"That was the lobby?" I asked curiously
"Yeah, they should be up in a few" he said as I walked over to the bassinet by the couch next to Chris and put the baby down.
"He so dang little" Chris commented as he peered his head over to look a the baby
"He's going to-" I started to say before I heard a ring at the door.
My eyes went wide slightly as I looked at Chris who looked startled as well.
"Uh...y-you want to get that or should I?" He asked pointing at the door
"I'll get it" I said just as it ringed again.
Taking a deep breath, I put on my best fake smile and walked to open the door.
"Hey!" I said in over exaggerated excitement
"Celine!" My mother said going in for a hug
"Hi Momma" I said as I hugged her back before pulling away and facing my dad.
"Celine" he said with a smile before going in for a hug also
"Hey Dad" I said as I submerged in his embrace before pulling away
"And you must be Chris" my mother said as I turned around to see Chris standing there.
I didn't even know he was behind me to begin with.
