You had decided to skive school, but rather than stay hidden, Ferris had thought it a good idea to get involved in a huge televised parade. You tried to talk him out of it, but he just dragged you up onto the float, which surprisinglydidn't have the catastrophicconsequences you were expecting.

"Come on and twist, little girl. You know you twist so fine. Come on and twist a little closer now and let me know you're mine," Ferris sang. At this lyric, he threw you a wink and gestured for you to come up onto the float, which was practically stationary as it was surrounded by a dancing crowd of hundreds, possibly thousands of people.
You looked at Sloane and Cameron, both of whom were laughing and beaming at you, gesturing for you to go. Quicker than you imagined, you moved through the swarm of people, members of the audience moving out of the way, while still dancing.
When you reached the edge of the float, two boys held your waist and pushed you up, whilst you held onto Ferris's hand, who was likewise pulling you up, singing the whole time.
When you were on the float, you were surprised to find yourself enjoying dancing with Ferris, twisting up and down in synchronization. He kept singing into the microphone, his face quite near yours. You joined in singing, but found it was not really for the crowd and more just for him. Even with the thousands of people, it felt like it could just have been you two.
The song finished with a bang and balloons were set off into the air, making the crowd go wild. Ferris held your face in his hands and pressed his lips to yours. You smiled softly at him.
"What was that for?"
"I didn't sing you that whole song for nothing you know. I'm confessing my love through the medium of song and dance."
"Love?"
"I'm really running out of other ways to say it, (Y/N). I love you."
