You and River sat in an abandoned bar, both of you with untold secrets. His secret being that he had fallen madly in love with you, yourmuch darker one that the only reason you had gotten so close to River in the first place, was because you had been blackmailed into it by a boy from your school, in order to gather secrets he couldexpose to the press. During this, you had fallen for River, but it killed you to be going against his back.

"I need to tell you something." River pulled his stool closer to yours and leaned on the bar.
You looked down. "What do you need to tell me?"
He moved his hand to your waist and pulled you nearer, so you rested on his chest. You placed your hand on his torso intending to move him away, but in the moment decided to keep it there. "River..." you mumbled, distracted by the close proximity his lips were to yours.
Suddenly, he pressed his lips against yours, his arms encircling your body, bringing you closer to him. Not thinking what you had been doing, you realised you had been biting his lower lip. It didn't cause him pain though. His grin was obvious even through the kissing.
You pulled away sharply: not due to a need for a oxygen (though that was a factor), yet due to you coming to your senses more. River smirked at you with a raised eyebrow. "So, does that kiss answer your question?"
You tried to avoid meeting his eyes. This couldn't happen.
He leaned in for another kiss, but this time you held him back with a hand on each of his shoulders. "I'll break your heart, you know?" you whispered, tears pricking your eyes.
Once more he brought your lips to his, but this time much softer, yet still as lovingly. As he pulled back, he held you gently, cupping your face in his hands. You could now see tears beginning to form in his eyes too.
