Jimin
"Your birthday is in a couple weeks. Are you planning anything?" Mother asks focusing her gaze out of the window of the coffee shop she wanted to meet at.
I shrug. "No. I don't plan on doing anything."
"Don't shrug. It's adolescent." She scolds sipping her coffee. "You do know why I really called you down here, don't you?"
"No, I don't." I say stirring my drink.
"I asked you nicely didn't I, not to see that Taemin boy again?" She asks looking at me.
"Oh, well Taehyung was aware of where I was last night if that's your concern." I say, which was true.
I had asked Taehyung if I could go meet Taemin's partner and he said yes, surprisingly, he even told me to wish them well for him.
"That's not the point. You went against me."
"I didn't go against you mother, I made a decision as an adult, just because it wasn't exactly what you wanted doesn't mean I did the wrong thing." I say refraining from rolling my eyes.
"Either way, I spoke to the Kims and they are talking to Taehyung as we speak." She says.
"Excuse me?" I ask. "You are not serious."
"Oh I am." She says tucking her hair behind her ear. "I meant what I said, I'm kind of disappointed that you doubted me."
I scoff. "What the hell is the matter with you?" I ask lowering my voice to prevent from yelling.
"Careful." She says in a warning tone as she goes in her purse. "Plan a party. Invite everyone you know, even the Taemin child. It will be good for the media. Especially after these get out."
She places an envelope on the table and stands to leave.
"I'm warning you Jimin." She says. "Be careful." With that she leaves.
I grab the envelope and open it, there are pictures inside.
"What the hell." I say to myself as I look at the pictures of Taemin and I.
There's photos from the night we went out and of me showing up at his house last night.
Of course they look horrible out of context but I had reasonable explanation for both situations.
I groan shoving the photos back in the envelope and standing.
Whatever the Kims were saying to Taehyung didn't matter, if they had these photos as well it wasn't gonna be a good day for me at all.

Taehyung
"What is it that you're saying, Mother? I have a lot of stuff to get done." I say sighing for the hundredth time as I stand in my mother's office.
"I'm making myself very clear, Kim Taehyung." She says folding her hands over one another on her desk. "Please shut my door."
I turn and go shut the door before returning to my spot in front of my desk. "I already told you that I know Taemin, he's an old friend of Jimin's."
"That's not my point. My point is that it doesn't look good in the media to see your so called fiancé meeting other men at night." She says.
"It was one guy, his friend. How many times do I have to repeat that?" I ask crossing my arms.
"I got rid of the pictures Taehyung, now make him stop. He's messing everything up." She says, aggravation clear in her tone.
"Fine. I'll tell him, Jesus Christ." I say turning to leave.
"And help him plan his birthday party. You know, act like his fiancé for a change instead of just holding his hand when there's a camera." She says turning in her office chair and standing up. "And maybe go straight home some nights. So I can stop getting rid of your pictures as well."
"What are you talking about?" I ask trying not to tense up.
"Men are so stupid. You're not invisible Taehyung, there's someone watching you everywhere you go." She says rounding her desk and walking towards me. "Understand this sweetheart. I'm smarter than you, wiser than you, and way better than you at hiding things. If you're going to keep screwing around with that secretary of yours, do yourself a favor,"
My throat runs dry at the mention of Jungkook and I start to wonder how much she actually knows.
She stops in front of me and pulls my collar down. "Get yourself some concealer."
"How'd you~"
"Like I said Taehyung. Men are stupid." She says crossing her arms.
I stare down at her for a moment trying to find the words to say, trying to figure out if I should deny it or just accept that she knows.
"In fact," she continues. "You're so stupid I can't believe Jimin hasn't found out. But it's because he's naive. He genuinely believes that if he loves you hard enough that you'll come back to him and stop being so cold. But that's not gonna happen is it? Because you are cold, and you're just like your father."
I swallow trying to clear my throat.
"Look at you. Deer in headlights." She chuckles.
"Mother~"
"Don't speak." She says. "I don't know what you're trying to do, but I know one thing. You better not hurt that Park child. Do you understand?"
I look at her confused for a moment. "What?"
"You don't know what it feels like Taehyung, because you're stupid. But I do, and I refuse for my child to cause the same pain to someone else. So either break up and run off with your secretary or grow up and be a man. Your choice." She says with a fire behind her eyes I've never seen before.
"Father had an affair?" I ask.
"Multiple. Might be having one right now. Isn't it ironic?" She chuckles.
"I'm ~"
"Sorry?" She cuts in. "Don't apologize to me. It's not my life you're ruining."
I sigh looking down at my hands. "I'm trying to fix things."
"You can't fix it. You already messed up too bad. No matter if you stay or go you'll always have to deal with the fact that you hurt someone you were supposed to love."
"I'm gonna fix it. I promise I will." I say again.
"You're missing the point honey. Jimin has done nothing but love you unconditionally. Why would you step out on him?" She asks, but the look in her eye makes it seem like she's just trying to figure out what my father was thinking.
"I didn't mean to." I say, wow that that one really came out dumb.
"You're so stupid." My mom says turning away from me with a sad laugh.
"I'm sorry mom." I say feeling ashamed. "I never meant~"
"~for it to go this far. Yeah. I've heard that one too." She says rounding her desk and sitting back in her chair.
I look down staying silent so I won't say anything else to hurt her.
"Just please think about this before you make your decision." She says.
I look up at her, her eyes gentle with an undertone of hurt.
"You never know how good you've got it until you don't have it anymore."
