DOUBLE UPDATE!!! WHOOP WHOOP

Even though I don't celebrate Easter, we still have to decorate the diner for every holiday. So I stay later than usual to place cutouts of eggs and bunnies on the walls.

I don't mind the extra work, it keeps my thoughts away from Miles.

I can't describe the feeling when he's not here but it fucking sucks.

I cut some more tape and walk over to the front window. The weather is warmer now and so the diner is refreshingly chilly. I place an orange egg on the window and tape it down.

I sigh and place my hands on my hips, one down and forty nine more to go.

The sound of the back door opening makes my body go stiff. I'm the only one here right now, who could it be.

I grab the scissors that I used to cut the tape and crouch behind the kitchen counter. My body goes cold as I hear the door shut and steps coming towards me.

This is what I get for never locking that stupid door. Way to go, Charlotte.

"Princess?"

I gasp and immediately stand up at his voice. His eyes meet mine and he raises a questioning eyebrow at the scissors in my hand.

"What are you doing here?" I ask Miles.

He chuckles and walks closer to me, wrapping an arm around my waist. "I saw your car, I had to come and see you." He says and places a soft kiss on my lips.

My breath is knocked out of me and I drop the scissors, clutching onto him for dear life. I hear him sigh and I relax in his embrace.

We pull apart grinning at each other and I blush.
"I love you." I whisper.

He grins back, "I love you more, Charlotte."

I'll never get tired of hearing him say that. My heart beat quickens and I pull away in fear of having a heart attack. I pick up the scissors and turn to him again.

"Well since you're here, you want to help me with the decor?" I ask.

He just shrugs in response and I hand him a cut out of a bunny. We work in a comfortable silence and I catch him staring at me multiple times which causes me to blush.

Soon enough, with the work of two people, we finish and I lock the back door of the diner behind me.

Miles instantly grabs my hand and interlocks our fingers, pulling me into him so that I can rest my head on his chest.

"Do you like working here?" He asks.

I nod.

I suddenly feel his breath hitch and his hands form a slight fist. I pull away and give him a puzzled look.

He stares at me intensely and shakes his head at me. "Is something wrong?" I ask worriedly.

His grip on my hand tightens and he lets out a small groan before dropping his gaze to the ground.

"There's so much I want to tell you but I don't know if you'll be interested in what I have to say."

His voice is timid for the first time ever and I realize that he wants to open up to me. This is what I've been waiting for and he knows it.

My chest squeezes for this man and I cup his cheek, forcing him to look at me and I place a kiss on his lips.

"I'm not going anywhere." I say sternly.
