Maritza had just dropped off Juliana and was on her way back home, they lived close so she didn't use the car, instead she walked. This was her favorite part of the whole routine, number 1 she finally has some time for herself, number 2 walking always cleared her mind, being a single mother isn't a job you'd want to have, but the girl meant everything to her and she wouldn't change anything if she could.

and number 3 she just loved seeing a tall brunette woman walking on the other side of the road with her white headphones and her phone always playing some kind of music, unfortunately this mysterious woman never noticed Maritza as she was always focused on where she was going, and never bothered to look to her right. They were 2 parallel lines always going forward, but never colliding

Mari was desperate to know the tall woman's name but she never had the balls to actually ask her, or find some excuse to hear her voice or something.

so she just kept walking back home, glancing every now and then at the tall Latina girl without ever being noticed, all this changed on a certain Friday, Mari was walking back home after dropping off Juliana at the elementary school. And Flaca decided to look at her right, and when she sees that small figure of Maritza walking on the other side, she stops walking and gazes at that girl, small girl wearing casual clothes and a messy bun and looking so damn good in them, after a few seconds Flaca pulls herself out of her own thoughts and jogs to the other side of the road, now walking behind her

Maritza? she was freaking out, she knew the woman lived about 4 blocks away from her but it was on the other side of the road, she had no reason to cross. Maritza thought of what she'd do if Flaca actually came up to talk to her, should she play it off cool and act like she's not interested? or should she just b herself?

Flaca who had now reached up with the small girl's pace was now walking beside her, her eyes locked down on her phone and her lip was getting bitten by her own teeth,  Maritza walked silently next to her trying her best to keep up with the long girl's pace but Flaca had actually slowed down, almost as if she wanted to walk next to the girl.

after a few seconds of Flaca writing on her phone, the tall woman passes her phone to the small one and keeps walking alongside her, Maritza takes the phone her forehead creased in confusion and looks at it, she finds the memo app open and a simple sentence

"cute girl's number 🙈 :"

Maritza blushed at the compliment but didn't know what to do, she wanted to get to know Flaca more but on the other hand Mari being Mari would get attached too easily, she already is! and usually when you tell someone that you're a single mother of a five year old they just vanished

so Maritza decided to go straight to the point and tell her about her daughter, and then if it was meant to be, then it would be

so instead of her number she wrote "cute girl has a five year old daughter🤗"

and passed her the phone back, Flaca who legit thought she just got her number didn't even bother to check the girl's answer, instead she just locked her phone and smiled proudly as she skipped her way home, yes she was that happy.

Obviously disappointed Flaca spent her whole weekend feeling blue not cause Maritza had a daughter but cause she thought she's never get to see her again, and Maritza too but she knew that it was better like that.

the weekend that seemed like it didn't want to end finally did and Maritza was back to her routine, and so was Flaca.

Maritza dropped her daughter off and walked back home, the tall woman once more reached  her and passed her her phone, Maritza  rolled her eyes trying to look annoyed but her smile gave it away.
