unedited.
selena's pov.

"so what's going on with you and e?" chris asked as ethan went to the bathroom, i furrowed my eyebrows.

"what're you talking about?" i ask, acting completely confused.

he laughed, "do you like him or something?"

i shook my head repeatedly, "i just broke up with grayson, and he's his brother. no i don't like ethan." i said in a whisper, just incase ethan could hear through the bathroom door.

"yeah but grayson's a piece of horse shit, ethan isn't. so much."

i laughed, "there's nothing going on."

i shake as the bell rings, pulling my headphones out and stuffing them into my backpack as i stand up from my desk.

ethan's hand makes contact with my arm, and i shiver?

"what is it?" i ask him, tugging my arm away from him and walking out of the classroom. ethan follows me since our next class is together.

"are you mad?"

"no i just don't wanna be late." i respond laughing, walking down the stairs and turning into the next hallway.

ethan stopped me again, "you have a perfect record."

i roll my eyes, "and i don't plan for that to change." i tug his hand off of my arm again, but he doesn't let go.

"what's up? what's wrong?" i ask, something obviously bothering him, and the sooner i ask the sooner i can help him so we can get to class.

he struggles to find words, "ethan we gotta go."

i step up on the bleachers, looking straight across from me at the field. football players practice as the cheerleaders set their stuff down on the sidelines.

"selena!" lydia yelled, cupping her hands over her mouth to amplify her voice. i walk down and towards her.

"hi." i say softly, looking at the squad standing behind her.

she smiled, "so no cheerleading this year?" but something in her voice made it seem like she was happy i wasn't in practice.

i shrug, "i still have two weeks to give the papers in, i'm just trying to figure some things out."

i tried my best to study her reaction from that, and honestly she looked like she was fake smiling, covering up that she was disappointed with my response.

i turn my head away from her and look at the football players, grayson standing tall, passing to brody. i sighed, "i actually have to go somewhere, we can catch up later." i tell her and speed walk away.

"ethan what did you want to talk about earlier?" i ask as i walk into the locker room. i knew everyone was gone and outside, i just knew ethan wasn't out there with him.

he stood at his locker, "it was nothing actually."

"it didn't seem like nothing."

"it was actually nothing, we can hang out after practice?" he told me and i nod as walks right past me and out the door, probably going outside.

maybe it was nothing but my mind can't not wonder what he wanted to say.

the familiar knock pattern hit my window. i got off of the ground and moved the curtains to the side and opened the window for him, he just rolled in.

he's gonna get hurt doing that one of these days.

i sat back onto the ground with chris, we were playing monopoly aka my all time favorite board game.

"can't we ever play something different?" ethan asked, but followed it up with a laugh, i shook my head,

"when pigs fly." i respond, resetting the game.

"well i guess we have to restart because you decided to finally show." chris said, obviously sarcastically.

ethan rolled his eyes, "it's not fun without me."

chris passed out on my bean bag, i was laying on my bed, ethan sitting on the opposite side of it as we watched every one of the purge movies.

"mom said i could stay in the guest room with chris." he read aloud from his phone, i nod and pull the blankets over me.

his eyes travel down my legs, "so about what i wanted to talk about earlier."
