Richie didn't want to admit it.... but y/n knew. Richie has feelings for a different girl, Carmen. (alright i'm not creative i used Carmen Sandiegos name)
Richie was just waiting for him to gather the strength to break up with me.
i knocked on Richies bedroom door. he answered it soon after. Richie opened his mouth, but i got straight to the point and interrupted him,
"just let go of me. get it over with. i can't take it much longer."
"w-what?" Richie stuttered, but his voice sounded like he already knew what i was talking about.
"i know you like Carmen now. and we haven't talked or hung out in a while, we've drifted. and, well, i don't want us to be ended harshly. so just let go of me, gently, please."
"y/n...."
"Richie, tell me the truth, do you li- love Carmen?"
Richie was hesitant, but nodded after a while.
my throat burned a little at least he was honest.
i nodded slightly back.
"so just say it."
Richie was quiet to say the words but he did, "i'm breaking up with you."
that same burning in my throat came back but i managed to push past it until i got outside, when i started to cry.
part of me wanted Richie to chase after me and tell me he wanted me back.
but that never happened.
