violet arrived back to her flat and ignored the calls from her roommates as she fled to her bedroom, that she, thank god didn't have to share with one of them. she looked to her phone that she had surprisingly abandoned most of the evening, noticing the large amount of missed calls she had collected from ollie. although she was hardly in the mood, she knew she needed a distraction. which unintentionally, was all she had so far only ever used ollie for.
"violet finally!" he gasped, picking up the phone after only one ring. "hey ollie i'm sorry i missed your calls. i was with david, some huge drama went down. can i come over?" she replied, causing him to of course immediately agree.
the two say in their usual positions, opposite one another in his bed, wrapped head to toe in cosy blankets whilst shoving popcorn down their throats. she had just explained everything that had happened only an hour prior. ollie sympathised with the boy, knowing exactly how he had felt. either she did this on purpose or she was seriously oblivious, he thought to himself as he tried to craft a response that wouldn't send her running back to him. "can you really blame him violet? i mean come on he's a young boy with eyes, and you're an incredibly beautiful girl." he replied, watching her look down to her fidgeting fingers in shyness; something that was rare to the girl.
"i just feel like an arsehole, i mean i just stormed out of there. if he really does have a little crush on me it's not like he can control it. the fact he never tried to make a move on me shows he wasn't going to do anything about it. i can't be angry with him for doing literally nothing!" she groaned. "violet don't be so oblivious! he bought you flowers, took you out to dinner then invited you to back to his house. not to forget all whilst having a girlfriend. i think it was pretty clear what his intentions were" ollie snapped back, growing tired of hearing the girl constantly talk about david as if he was some kind of saint, when he was clearly just another player.
"i can't believe what you're saying ollie! he did all those things as friends. he got me flowers to apologise, he took me to dinner to talk through and settle our argument and he invited me back to his house because i basically asked him to!" she cried back, feeling as if the whole world wanted to start an argument with her today.
"do you do this on purpose?" he yelled, frustration growing with the girl. "do what?" she replied innocently, "flirt with boys, act interested in them, then pretend to be surprised when they fall for you?" he hissed back, as she sighed in disbelief.
"I've decided" she responded after silence had fallen upon the couple, "decided what violet" he groaned, completely fed up of the girl in front of him. "that conversation we had when we first met about america. well I've decided, i fucking hate it" she snapped, collecting her things and swiftly leaving.
for what felt like the hundredth time today she was back at her room, this time determined to make it to sleep.
