the two had eventually arrived at vegas, making their way straight to the hotel as it was already nearing sunrise.
"i'm so happy i got the surprise edited. i'm going to upload the video then go straight to sleep, I'm exhausted" david said as they got out of taxi, both yawning in unison. "I'm going to wait for you to upload the video, probably cry from happiness a little more then go to sleep" violet replied as they both chuckled at how accurate that was since the girl had practically been non stop balling her eyes out since they were in the carpark outside the airport.
david pointed his camera at the girl once more, making sure to capture her reaction the lavish hotel he had booked for the two of them. "david this is way too nice it must be costing you a fortune i do not deserve this one bit" she said as they made their way into the extravagant lobby, "are you crying again" he asked, zooming his lens to show the girls red puffy eyes where tears where streaming from, "no course not" she giggled, wiping them away with the back of her hand, only causing more to spill. "god girls are so emotional" david said sarcastically, turning the camera round to show his own watering eyes.
this was something violet adored about him. he wasn't afraid to show his emotions and cry in front of everyone, the guys always made fun of how soppy he was when it came to stuff like this, but it made her only admire him more.
the two had made their way to their joining rooms and with another twenty 'thank you's from violet they parted ways.
violet could feel her body ready to drift to sleep but she was determined to stay up and watch davids vlog. not only did she want to post an instagram thanking him immediately but she also couldn't wait to watch back the footage of the surprise.
this was one of the reasons she loved hanging out with youtubers, some of her best memories with them were caught on video for her to watch whenever she wants.
her phone finally dinged with a text from david telling her it was uploaded and she wasted no time in getting it up.
it started with a clip of violet, zane and heath doing some awful drunk karaoke in the back of davids car. something the girl had completely forgot even happened until now. it however quickly zoomed and froze on her, davids famous pre-surprise voice over starting.
"that's my friend violet. she goes to work at 6am, then goes to college but somehow always finds the time to be in the vlogs. not only that, she helps us edit our videos even though that usually means not finishing until minutes before she has to leave for work. the other day she mentioned that while she was in america she really wanted to go to vegas and right then i knew i had to book it"
she grinned widely to herself, she really was the luckiest girl ever to have such an amazing friend. once the video was over she left an overly-emotional thank you comment and posted her instagram, which david immediately commented on. she chuckled and reached for her phone.

get dressed, put some shoes on and come to my room, let the adventure begin
violet sighed, as much as she wanted to be overly protective and order him to go to bed after having such a hectic day, she although exhausted just seconds ago, was also wide awake. she was suddenly aware of how hungry she was too, hopefully david's 'adventure' included some kind of food.
she opened the door to his room, barely stepping foot inside before her hand was engulfed in his and being pulled out into the hall, not letting go until they were outside and under the hot rays of the early morning sun.
the pair had ended up at a diner, violet insisting that he order as much as he wanted because she was paying for the meal. they had never really discussed money unlike david did with all of his other friends. to be honest he felt a little guilty, he uploaded a few vlogs a week and was sitting in a mansion whereas this girl that nonstop worked incredibly hard was quite clearly struggling, no matter how hard she tried to hide it. it was subtle things, like her coincidentally 'having already eaten' almost every time they invited her out to eat or how she 'wasn't hungry' when they got takeaways that showed the boy she wasn't exactly in the best place financially right now. he knew she would never ask or accept money from any of them however, so he wanted to treat her to as many surprises as he could.
after a lot of bickering she let david get away with ordering one of the cheapest things on the menu, knowing how stubborn the boy could be when he wanted.
"have i said how grateful i am to have you in my life?" david softly spoke as they sat admiring the view of the huge water fountain, watching as the sun illuminated it a glistening blue. "david don't be silly I'm the grateful one, i mean you took me all the way to vegas" she chuckled back, ignoring how his eyes were fixed on her face, admiring the beautiful girl beside him. "seriously vi, i don't know what i would do without you, you have changed my life in so many ways" he replied, watching the corners of her lips turn up into a small smile as she giggled nervously, looking to the ground in embarrassment as her cheeks turned rosy red. "i think that this might be the best day of my life" she hummed, leaning her body into his and gently resting her tired head on her shoulder, not bothering to hide the fact she was yet again in tears. "stop making me cry" david chuckled, wrapping an arm around the girl and pulling her closer.
violet had always craved happiness and satisfaction, but was always left disappointed. it wasn't that her expectations were too high or that she was too high maintenance, it was the little voice in the back of her mind that constantly ridiculed her, making her feel worthless and that her very existence had no purpose.
it wasn't until she was sat under the burning rays of the nevada sun that something in her mind snapped. the voice no longer taunted her, she finally had a meaning in the world. and david dobrik was to thank for all of it.
