her eyes were fixated on the boy in front of her, the rising sun behind him causing his entire body to glow.

"this is the best night of my life" she sighed, feeling rejoice in the way his lips turned into a radiant smile, "me too vi, i knew from the night i met you i would do anything to keep you in my life." he replied, gently placing his hand over hers. her eyes fell to her lap, trying to stop the blush that was creeping over her face.

"i don't want this date to come to an end. natalie is with her boyfriend tonight so why don't we go to my house?" david asked as they left the restaurant hand in hand, their arms lent against one another as if they were trying to stay as close as humanly possible. before she could voice her response she was quickly cut off, "oh my god i just realised that made me sound like a douche, i just meant we could hang out!" he quickly exclaimed, causing a loud chuckle to escape violets lips, "don't worry dave, i knew what you meant" she replied as he let out an exaggerated sigh.

he knew from their deep conversations early in the morning after too much coffee and editing that she had grown so used to boys using her and that it had really affected her self worth to the point that she believed it was all she deserved.

"do you want a drink vi?" david asked as he wondered towards the fridge, already pulling out a capri sun for her in anticipation. "capri sun please" she replied, a smile raising on david's face as closed the doors and passed the childish drink to the girl. it always made him laugh, it was the drink you would expect the least from a girl like violet yet it somehow fit her personality perfectly in his mind.

david walked slowly towards the girl until her back came into contact with the kitchen cabinets. she slowly ran her hand through her hair, her breath hitched as her heart pounded.

david didn't know why he was feeling so nervous, it wasn't like they had not kissed before. but this time felt different, this time would really mean something.

"are you gonna kiss me or what" she joked, pouting her lips and staring into his eyes, so deeply he felt as if she was reading his mind and the panic that was bubbling inside of it.

before he could argue with himself any longer she had gone up on her tippy toes, pressing her lips into his, catching the boy off guard in the most wonderful way.

it was cliche, and she hated herself for even thinking it but she had felt sparks like never before. she had found herself so lost in the moment, that her brain had yet to catch up with what was happening. david was clumsily fiddling with the buttons of her top, causing her to quickly pull away breathless.

"what is it violet? is something wrong" he asked, biting his lip and trying to find any hints of emotion in her eyes. "i know it sounds stupid coming from me of all people, but i want to take this slow" she mumbled, so quietly it was almost a whisper. she couldn't bring herself to look up at the boy, and to see his reaction to her sudden announcement.

she had never been in a real relationship before, nor had she ever felt this way about anyone. she was hardly a virgin waiting for marriage, but the voice in the back of her mind was telling her to, for once, take it slow. to enjoy and treasure the time spent building up a real, healthy relationship.

but she couldn't help feel guilty. there was an ongoing joke in their group about her casual and relaxed attitude to alex, she had almost fallen into a similar position as corinna. she of course enjoyed this joke, after all she wasn't ashamed of her past but she couldn't help but worry it would give her some kind of 'reputation' with the boys.

"violet you didn't have to be nervous. i couldn't agree more with you, i just got a little ahead of myself" david responded, placing a delicate kiss upon her lips. "now how about we watch a movie?" he added, and in that moment violet knew that she was completely head over heels for the boy.
