the time was ticking out of control, matching the pounding drumming of violets heart.
david would be at her house in a matter of minutes and she was second guessing everything;
was she dressed okay?
did her makeup look good?
should she have spent more time on her hair?she hated surprises with a passion but david had took a vow of silence regarding the itinerary of their date and it had turned the girl into a bundle of nerves.
before she could stress any longer a light tapping at her window broke her from her trance. she whipped her body around, seeing david's childish grin beaming from behind the glass. she quickly grabbed her bag, jogging to the front door, where he was now stood with a bunch of flowers and an open embrace.
"dave you didn't have to!" she cooed, tears threatening to spill at the simple yet powerful gesture. david has been the only person in her life to buy her flowers, and although it was cliche, she couldn't contain the smile on her face or the happiness inside her heart.
"beautiful flowers for a beautiful girl" he whispered into her ear as they held one another close in their arms. "you're so wonderfully cheesy" she chuckled, rolling her eyes as he simply smirked back in response.
after running the bouquet inside and putting them in water she jogged back out, eager to reunite with her lover. any second spent apart tonight was a tragedy.
"where are we going" she whined for the hundredth time that night as the car drove itself through the windy roads of the la hills. "good things come to those who wait" he smirked, eyes constantly flicking back and forth from the beautiful girl beside him to the road.
he couldn't believe his luck, taking in every single part of the girl before him as they took a seat at the restaurant that he was sure she would adore. her paper white cheeks were flushed a deep crimson, the candle light illuminating the light freckles that were scattered across them. the ones she had left free of makeup for the first time in forever because she knew how much he loved them. her eyes sparked crystal blue, he couldn't help but get lost inside of them. her smile radiated from her, the most contagious smile he ever had seen, but it was one he knew she only released for him.
he was absolutely, undoubtably, crazily in love with her.
"stop staring you creep" she joked, squirming in her seat at the thought of someone taking in her beauty so intensely. he knew that this kind of undivided attention made her nervous, but he couldn't help himself, she deserved the world and he was determined to be the one to give it to her.
the two sat there in conversation, unaware of everything happening around them, just rejoicing in one another's company.
"thank you so much for brining me here, everything is so perfect" she smiled, as the two watched the sun set before their candle lit table. she told herself she wouldn't get emotional but in this movement she couldn't help herself, this had been one of the best nights of her life. no distractions, just david and herself in complete euphoria.
