Mark sat at the foot of the twisted path. His last dream told him about Boy avoiding the cafe, which explains why they didn't bump into eachother.

Instead, Boy went to a place Marks dreams had told him about once; his tree house.

Mark had never been there, but his last dream told him where the path was, so he waited there. After an hour, Mark was ready to walk back to his apartment, but something caught his eye.

A spark.

A boy stepped our into the day light. Sparks flew from him every time he moved, like his body had been covered with sparkelers and somehow they were setting off. His chesnut hair waved in the light wind. He wore black skinny jeans and a gray hoodie to cover a grey Jacksepticeye t-shirt. His eyes were closed and Mark could see black earbuds stuck in his ears, but he couldn't hear the song playing. The boy started singing softly, and Mark knew instantly hat song it was.

"Hell raising, hair raising
I'm ready for the worst
So frightening, face whitening
Fear that you can't reverse"

Mark hummed along to the song, not getting up from his place on the grass.

"My phone has no signal
It's making my skin crawl
The silence is so loud
The lights spark and flicker
With monsters much bigger
Than I can control now"

The boy opened his eyes. Mark smiled at him. His mouth fell open.

He turned, and ran.

"Wait! No, don't go!" Mark said, getting up and chasing after him. The boy turned several corners, but never lost Mark.

Ethan couldn't believe he had been so stupid. How could he have done that? he knew that his soulmate could be waiting for him, but he risked it for the tree house. He never thought his soulmates dream about the house would come to fast, but he still could have been more careful.

Welcome to the panic room
Where all your darkest fears are gonna
Come for you, come for you

Ethan turned a corner and hid in an alley behind an abandoned building, his heart racing.

Welcome to the panic room
You'll know I wasn't joking
When you see them too, see them too

Ethan heard footsteps. He held his breath.

Welcome to the panic room

The footsteps got closer.

Still waiting, hands shaking
Maybe the coast will clear
But these voices, these strange noises
They followed me in here

Closer still.

My phone has no signal
It's making my skin crawl
The silence is so loud
The lights spark and flicker
With monsters much bigger
Than I can control now

They were right next to Ethan now.

Welcome to the panic room
Where all your darkest fears are gonna
Come for you, come for you

"Hello?" A voice called. Ethan recognized it as the voice that had called out to him when he ran.

Welcome to the panic room
You'll know I wasn't joking
When you see them too, see them too

"Are you there? Why'd you run? I don't bite!" The voice said. Ethan held back a giggle.

Welcome to the panic room

"Please come out. I just want to talk to you!" The voice was soft, comforting almost.

There's no crying wolves now
'Cause the truth has settled in
Hiding under goose down
For your nightmare to begin

"If it helps anything, my name is Mark," The boy said to the alley.

There's no crying wolves now
'Cause the truth has settled in
Hiding under goose down
For your nightmare to begin

Ethan thought about it. How bad could it be? Having a soul mate could be fun, who knows.

Welcome to the panic room
Where all your darkest fears are gonna
Come for you, come for you

Ethan took a deep breath.

"I-" He stuttered.

Welcome to the panic room
You'll know I wasn't joking
When you see them too, see them too

He swallowed and took a step out of the dark, out of the alley.

Out of safety.

"I'm Ethan," He said quietly. Mark smiled at him.

"Nice to meet you Ethan," Mark said, still smiling softly. Ethan couldn't help it; he smiled a little too.

Hell raising, hair raising
I'm ready for the worst
