Time Skip to School
Dad drops me off and I walk into the school, heading to my locker. I still haven't looked at the messages Sweet Pea sent; I don't know if I want to at all. I get my binder for 1st period and head to the lounge. I still had a few minutes to spare, so I went to the vending machine to get a juice and a few packs of gummies. I didn't eat breakfast at home, so this is all I got until lunch.
I walk into the lounge, Betty, Veronica, Archie and Jug are at our usual spots. I walk over and they're arguing about something. "What are you guys fussing about now?." I sit down and open a pack of gummies. "Betty thinks Jug shouldn't have written about Mrs. Biltmore's affair and drug use. Now it's going to be out for everyone to read. I have to say, it's bad enough that she did all that, but there was a better way to get it out, and not the way you did it Jug." Jug looks around at us all, "Thanks guys. Just so you know, I don't care if someone comes from the south side or north side. If you do something illegal or could hurt someone else, I will make sure everyone knows. No matter which side they're from." I look at Jug like oh really. "Are you sure about?." Before he could answer, the bell rings. I get up and head to class.
1st block went by slow. I wasn't even paying attention when they were taking notes. I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. I checked it and it was from Sweet Pea. I put my phone back in my pocket; I'll check it when I go to the bathroom when we switch classes.
I start taking notes over WW2, but I already knew about it. We wrote more notes and then watched a video. It wasn't interesting me at all so I layed my head down. About 20 or so minutes later, the bell rang. I get my stuff and leave.I'm on my way to the bathroom when I see Reggie; he sees me too and walks towards me.
"Hey, I was wanting to know if you wanted to get something to eat after school? My treat."
"Umm sure, yeah. That'd be great. I'll see you after school. I gotta go."
I can't believe I agreed to go with him after school. I get to the bathroom and stand by the window. I pull my phone out and read the messages Sweet Pea sent
Hey
Will you answer me
I know you read my message from earlier
Will you stop ignoring me
We really have to talk
Please answer me
The messages went on about me answering him back and saying we really have to talk. But there's nothing to talk about; as far as I'm concerned, we're done with each other. The 'favors' have been owed. I walk out the restroom and to Contemporary issues I go. I draw a few doodles and listen to music the whole class period. We had a sub and I finished my work really fast. Sweet Pea wasn't here; that's a good thing to because I don't really want to see him.
After Second period, 3rd period went by like all the others; now I'm at lunch with Betty and everyone else. We eat and talk, same old stuff, but Jug never made eye contact or anything towards me. I wonder if he even knows. We finish eating and leave. Jug and Archie head to the lounge before 5th period, while B, V and I go set outside on the steps. I debate whether I should tell them or not but I decide I'm not going to. I don't want to make it a bigger problem by getting them into it, but I know if I dont, they'll get mad at me for not telling them because we're best friends. Before the bell rings, I text my dad to let him know he doesn't have to pick me up because I'm hanging out with some friends. Which is a loe. He replies back with K, love you.
Time Skip- 3:00
I wait outside for Reggie and while I'm waiting, Sweet Pea rides up to pick that girl up from the bathroom the other day. I hid behind the pillar so he wouldn't see me and he didnt. Thank goodness. A little after, Reggie walks up and we head to his car. We get in and he drives to Pop's diner. The car ride there was so quiet and kind of awkward.
I hope it's not while we're in the diner.
