Mark had to take a second to have it processed inside his head.
Mister... Daddy?
To make things more emotional for him, this was the closest he could get to seeing his son. His own child.
It took Donghyuck a moment before he could react, walking around his desk and carrying the little boy up to his arms. "Chan, no. How many times do I have to tell you not to call people that?"
"But Mister Daddy was being mean to you!" The little boy pointed out, addressing the man according to what he was told to.
With cheeks flushed red and eyes frantically looking around for reasons to use, Donghyuck let out a nervous laugh. "Chan, let's rewind a bit. This man here is—"
"Mister Daddy!" The kid insisted.
"Yes— I mean, no!" The panic he was feeling wasn't helping him think straight at all. "Chan, this is Mr. Lee and he is my boss."
"Ohh..." The boy nodded his head despite having a hard time understanding that explanation. "You rich?"
"Chan!" Donghyuck never knew that it would be this handful to introduce the kid. He had never experienced the same struggle before. His friends were able to interact well with him. Donghyuck doesn't know what was the problem here.
But speaking of the chief executive, Donghyuck diverted his eyes to the man standing in front of him. He noticed Mark being in a daze with his longing stare at the little boy being carried. It worried him to see the supervisor showing such emotions with his eyes.
It didn't take Donghyuck to wonder long with his thoughts when his boss' voice cut him off.
"Lee Donghyuck." However, Mark sounded like he was at a loss for words. The only thing he could do was call his name, but he didn't know what to say next.
Luckily, Donghyuck took it as his chance to explain. "Mr. Lee! Let me make it clear."
He somehow gave Mark more time to think about the situation he is in.
"First of all..." Donghyuck paused for a moment upon realizing that the kid was listening to them. Talking about a sensitive topic may not be appropriate for him. And so, he neared towards the man after letting the boy sit on top of his desk. "I'm not hiding a kid from you."
The opening statement snapped Mark back to his senses. He had his brows furrowed and forehead wrinkled in pure confusion. Why did his secretary think that he'd be bothered to know if ever that is his actual child?
"Donghyuck." Nonetheless, Mark had to thank him for his crazy thoughts. Because of that, he was able to remind himself how to act in this situation.
