Jeffrey shuffled closer to her and he placed his warm hand on her cheek as he looked into her bright blue eyes. Leaning in he gently pressed his lips to hers in a sweet but quick kiss just testing the waters. Pulling back a little he looked at her again for reassurance and her smile said everything he needed to know. He pressed his lips to hers once more, this time longer. She parted her lips and allowed his tongue entrance as he licked gently at her top lip before venturing further and tasting her tongue. Breaking away he pecked softly at her lips a few more times.
Layla let out a slightly nervous and shakey breath as Jeffrey leaned his forehead against hers doing much the same.
"You okay?" He asked.
"I'm good" she smiled shyly.
"If this is too much, if I'm going to fast just say the word okay".
"You're fine, I mean it's fine...Oh god I didn't mean that you're not fine because you are I just meant-"
"You're good" he cut in with a chuckle.
"Yeah I'm good" she giggled in response.
"I don't think I've made a woman this nervous before" he teased.
"First time for everything right?"
"There certainly is".
Layla reached out and ran her fingers over his short scruffy beard before tracing her fingertips across his perfect lips then leaning in she kissed him softly. As she pulled away she watched as his tongue slipped out, subconsciously licking the spot she had just kissed.
He stared at her with his beautiful hazel eyes and she was so lost in the moment that she felt like she could stay there forever. Jeffrey brushed a stray strand of hair from her face before running his fingertips down her cheek and under her chin. Tilting her chin upwards allowing him access to her neck he trailed soft kisses on the sensitive skin there, making her break out in goosebumps. He kissed his way along her jawline before reaching her lips once more, brushing his own against them. Layla kissed him softly, the scruff of his short beard tickling against her skin. Parting her lips she deepened the kiss, enjoying the way his warm mouth felt against hers.
They kissed until the pair of them were practically breathless and grinning like a couple of teenagers. "I could kiss you all night Layla, but I think I should probably go before I get too carried away" he chuckled.
"As much as I'd like that" she smiled shyly, "You're probably right. We don't want to rush things".
"Thank you for dinner. It was amazing" he grinned.
"My pleasure. Do you have any plans for the weekend?"
"No plans"
"Would you like to join Benji and I tomorrow? I was planning on taking him to the park, the one with the small stream nearby. He likes to paddle in it".
"I'd love that".
"Would you like to meet here in the morning and we can go together?"
"Sounds like a plan" he said as she walked him to the door.
"Thank you for coming for dinner. And thank you for the beautiful flowers and Benji's gift".
"No problem. I had a great time" he smiled as he leaned in and gave her a long kiss goodnight. "See you tomorrow Beautiful".
"Night Jeff" Layla blushed.
Before heading to bed Layla took a long hot shower and checked in on Benji. She found him snuggled up on a nest of blankets on the floor, something he did quite often. Crouching down she carefully picked him up, nest and all and placed him on the bed where it was much softer.
