Crash

You sit up with a start. Waiting for another sound.

Thud 

You jump at the sound. Then slowly get up and walk to your door. You open it a crack, your instincts taking over leaving your footsteps silent.

Thud thud

You look down the hallway and then suddenly a mix of fear, anger, and numbness floods your body.

Bucky

You instantly run to his room and crack open the door. You see him thrashing around on his bed, sweating and tangled in his sheets.  You instantly run to Steve's room.

You throw open his door. You look at your hands.

Fuck.

You had taken off your gloves. They must have gotten itchy so you took them off in your sleep. You do the next best thing you can think of and grab a pillow, then start hitting steve as hard as you can. Luckily it only takes three good wacks to the face for him to wake.

Steve" what! Ok, ok! I'm up!"

He looks at you and automatically switches into concerned-parent-steve mode.

Steve"y/n, what's wrong?"

He says sitting up throwing the covers off him.

Thud

He looks up twords buckys room.

Steve"shit"

He gets up and runs to buckys room you hot on his trail. He stops at the door and slowly walks in.

Steve" buck. Common man it's just a nightmare."

He crouches by the bed. Then places a hand on buckys shoulder. Buckys metal arm shoots out throwing steve into the wall.

Steve"shit. Y/n dont move. Hes in a nightmare. He is reliving his time at hydra. Right now he has the same mindset as he did when he was the winter soldier. "

You stand wide eyed looking at bucky who is now standing. Starring at steve with glossed over eyes.

Steve" bucky, c'mon man its steve. This isnt you. It isnt real. You gotta wake up man"

Bucky just sat on the bed and stared of on to space.

Bucky"the man on the bridge"

Steve"yeah buck, it's me. I'm your best friend man, till the end of the line remember? "

Bucky stands slowly

Bucky" you're not my friend "

He said. Spitting out the word like it burned him to repeat it.

Then his eyes grew dark and cold.

Bucky" you're my mission "

You're eyes grew wide as bucky lunged at steve. They exchange punches and kicks, miraculously not breaking anything. You try and calm bucky down but for some reason it's not working.

Steve"bucky, c'mon man I dont want to hurt you."

You look at steve. His nose is bleeding, and he has a black eye starting to form.
