Strip It Down

Uh oh...

**Lukes POV**

It was the night before I had to leave for Spring Break for a week. The kids are growing like weeds, they are 3.5 months old. They are cooing a lot and trying to keep their heads held up.

Kelly's parents had come down to help out, but I convinced her to come on spring break with me. She's been with the babies since November and she was mentally exhausted she never left their side.

"Mom and Dad should be here soon." I yelled upstairs. She was giving Savannah a bath since she threw up everywhere.
"Okay. Is dinner done? I'm starving?" She yelled down as she stood at the top of the steps with Savannah in the towel.
"Almost. Can you tell the boys to come down when you come?" I asked her.

Mom and Dad said they could keep all 4 kids but thankfully my mom was only a phone call away.

"Sure thing. Where's Dallas?" She asked me.
"He's in the rock n play. Sleeping. His bath and bottle wore him out."

She walked away. I couldn't wait to get her away and alone for a few nights. My phone rang it was Mike.

"Hey man." I said putting it on speaker as I started cutting stuff to make a big salad.
"Hey, so I have a question for ya. Can Kells hear me?" He asked.
"Uhm she's upstairs you're on speaker but I can take you off in a minute just in case. Is everything okay?" I asked concerned.
"Ehhh... sorta kinda."

I stopped what I was doing and grabbed my phone and went out onto the deck to start the grill up.

"Okay what's wrong?" I said holding the phone to my ear as I sat down. I had the screen door pulled over so I could hear Dallas.

"I got a phone call this morning...." he said.
"Okay?" I said confused.
"It was emily....."
"Mike" I said through my teeth.
"I love jay Luke but...."
"MIKE YOU WERE GOING TO ASK HER TO MARRY YOU IN PANAMA!"  I yelled.
"I know I know and I do love her Luke I do but I love Emily too...."
"No absolutely not! If you leave jay for Emily you will be out of a job and I will not stop my wife from coming after you."
"You're suppose to be my bestfriend Luke.... I think I owe it to emily to go and listen to what she has to say....."
"Well you need to tell Jay if you go..."
"You know i can't do that."
"Then I will mike I'm serious..." I said sternly.
"I need my bestfriend forget the girls right now..."

"Luke!" I heard kelly yell.
"Listen Kelly's coming I got to go I will text you in a few Okay. Just don't do anything dumb mike"
"Fine bye."

The phone went blank.

I went inside.

"Who were you talking to?" She asked.
"Sorry I had to start the grill for the steaks and lobster tails and that was mike just clearing up a few last minute details."
"Okay." She said.

I leaned down and kissed Savannah's head.

"Nice baby fresh smell." I said kelly smiled. Savannah cooed.
"Wanna go lay next to your brother?" She asked walking away.

I was grabbing the plates of steaks and lobster. I went out and my phone dinged.

Mike: she's here in Georgia Luke... I need you to cover for me please....
Me: no way mike... I'm sorry you're on you're own...
Mike: some bestfriend you are...

  I put my phone away. I started cooking the rest of the food. I heard the gate intercom. I ran inside after I closed the grill. I looked on the screen to see a black car. Guessing it was the Uber. I opened the gate.

It was about 10 mins and the door bell rang. Bo and Tate ran down yelling grandma and grandpa. Kelly came in and opened the door.

My jaw dropped.
My heart stopped for a minute I swear.

"Hi kelly......" Emily said.

Sorry it was a short updated but I have a lot going for the rest of this book and I'm pretty excited about it! 😄
