Ch12: Her POV

GEENINA's POV

The way Shandy made me feel safe and he wanted me to trust him again, is really something else. Maybe my feelings didn't changed a bit?

I looked at Matteo. I can't forget what he told me when I rushed Autumn here.

"Geenina. The operation is too risky and I can't possibly get her operated here."

That made my heart break into little pieces and I remembered Shandy. I was losing all the hope I got until he said the words, "You can trust me."
My mom held my hand tightly few hours after Shandy got inside the operating room. "Everything is going to be alright." she said. I gave her a smile and nodded.

"Mom, you should go eat out. I'll be staying here."
"Do you want to eat something?"

I shook my head to say no and let them walk away. It's hard for me to eat while Autumn is inside. I can't possibly do such thing. Matteo sat beside me. "I'm sorry." he muttered. "I really am sure that it is risky to have that operation. I'm sorry I turned you down, I'm sorry I—-"

"Doctor Sy! We need you inside! Doctor Samhat asked you to get in because the case happening is your forte." the nurse said while breathing heavily. I stood up and asked what happened but she refused to say so. Matteo went inside, rushing and I am left here dumbfounded.

I went to the hospital chapel and kneeled infront of my Father. "Lord, please rescue my child. I promise ill let him know. I promise ill let her meet our child. Please." I muttered in between my sobs. I took awhile in the chapel and went back to see my Mom and I hugged her tight. She pat my back and whispered that I should not lose hope. 8 hours had passed but they didn't went out yet. Mom and Dad went home to rest but I stayed.

At exactly 9am Shandy and Matteo went out from the operating room. I stood up and rushed to them, "Is everything okay now? How is she?" Matteo looked at me and Shandy didn't. "Nina, look, we did our best. We saved her. But she's in coma." Matteo said and that made me feel nauseous and dizzy. He hugged me to prevent myself from crying. I feel warm. I know Matteo didn't neglect Autumn. I know he saved her along with Shandy. He told me to sit and Shandy followed us.

"We will be transferring her to the ICU. But rest assured everything was fine." Shandy said while standing. Cold sweats and tired eyes were shown in their eyes. They didn't slept and worked for almost 9 hours just for my child. I gave them a faint smile, "Thank you for everything." I said to the men with me. "I couldn't thank you enough for the efforts you gave just to save her." Matteo tapped my head and looked at me. I knew he wanted me to tell Shandy the truth this time.

He knew everything and he didn't careless. He stood up as a father for Autumn while he was courting me up until now. And I know it pained him to see my child holding her dear life. Shandy on the other hand went zero while sitting. Matteo and I chuckled. "When will you tell him?" he asked.

I shrugged. "When Autumn wakes up and get herself better."
