GEENINA's POV

On the 8th week of Autumn's coma, she woke up. Feeling all thirsty. Shandy told us that it's normal for a person who was in coma. "It's a miracle, we hoped for the better but we got to know the consequences of the said procedure... we thought she couldn't make it." Shandy smiled at his child and patted her hands gently. "You're one brave girl."

Autumn gave him a gentle smile not being able to talk yet. I held her hand tightly and looked up at him, "Thank you Shandy. And tell all the doctors the same thing." He nodded and decided to went outside for other check ups.

"You should go back to work, darling." My mom said when she arrived, "Your Manager called our house asking you to report tomorrow morning." Forming a thin line on my lips I nodded my head and sighed. Maybe I should get my feet down and work for my child too. I stepped outside Autumn's room after few minutes and met Matteo at the hallway, I gave him a smile and mouthed "thank you" at him.

He walked towards me, "I heard Autumn woke up."

"Yes, she did. Thank you for the help, Matteo. It really helped us a lot." Messing my already messed hair, he smiled at me. Reassuring it is fine.

"Uh, Nina? Can we have some dinner later? To talk things?" he hesitantly asked. I smiled and nodded as an answer. "Okay. I'll pick you up at 7pm. Thank you. Excuse me, I need to attend the meeting." he stated and rushed to wherever he is heading to. I continued my way home and settled for awhile. As I am cleaning Autumn's room I stumbled upon a photograph of Shandy and I on the floor.

I held it in my hand and made my way to Autumn's bed. "Where did this came from?" I thought. I didn't have anything when I returned from Indonesia but what is this? I kept the photograph on my apron and continued cleaning her room.

6pm arrived swiftly and I went to dive in my closet to find a decent clothes for the dinner Matteo had set up. "I don't have any clothes left!" I exclaimed. Should I just ask Matteo to drop by and prepare us a dinner instead? I texted him.

[✉️] To Matteo.

I ran out of clothes. Drop by my house, ill cook. See you :)

After texting him I went on to find some good food to make in the cupboard, I saw pasta and some cream of mushroom and in a flash, I decided to make carbonara. As I let the pasta boil, I lazily looked for my favorite wine. Luckily enough, it still has few glasses to fill.

He arrived at around 6:50pm. "You went busy right?" He nodded and chuckled making himself get inside. I motioned him to sit on the nearest sofa but he, as a stubborn little child, sat on the stool near the kitchen dinner table. "What is it?" I sarcastically asked.

"Nothing much. I just missed you." He put his both hands under his chin and smiled. I can't help myself but to flutter, Matteo didn't lose that magic in him... and that made me confused. "I know you are confused right now. Between me and Shandy." I turned off the stove and served the carbonara near him. "Let's eat first before talking, is it fine?"

He nodded playfully and smiled, making his way to eat the carbonara. I served him some wine as well and the dinner went too silent. Which is unusual for the both of us. After eating, we decided to keep the plates and took the glasses of wine to the veranda. Admiring the depth colors of city buildings.

"What about us?" he out of the blue asked. That made my heart torn into little pieces. I can't possibly tell him the answer yet, and I can't be unfair to those men. I sighed deeply, "We're fine. Right?" He faced me still holding the glass between us. "I mean, can I still hope for us?"

I bit my lower lip, can't fully comprehend my thoughts, it's all blurry and unclear. Looking at my glass I murmur sentences that wasn't audible enough for him to hear... and myself as well.

"I can't say anything yet... I'm sorry, Matt."

He chuckled and placed the glasses on the table nearby. Giving me a hug, I felt home.
