Chapter 31

Arthit POV

(Timeline:Janeeyah is back from Kongpob's house)

"Hey Janeeyah, your manager was looking for you..." Before I could finish my sentence, I was dragged by my hand.

"Jane what are you doing? Let go! Stop... Tell me what happened.. Jane? Ja-"

I was pulled into my waiting room and she shut the door without saying a word.

"Jane.. What happened? Why were you dragging me like that? Where were you all this while? I said-"

"P'Arthit knows Adelia?" She asked.

What? Why her now? I didn't tell her anything about Adel.. How does she know about Adel?

"Huh?"

"Do you know Adelia P'?! Tell me dammit! Do you know her? What did she say to you? What did you not tell me?" She yelled silently.

"How do you know her?" I asked back quietly.

"She is my friend, P'... For a very long time, I knew her ever since I was born. We practically grew up together. Although she was happy-go-lucky kid once, she now changed into a completely different person...She has been my friend since forever......in fact I can't bear to see her in pain..and what hurts more is that I can't make her smile and cherish life. She had to see her parents part ways and from then she has been living with her step mother and her father.After that she never spoke much and smiled much, until recently, when she entered university... I saw her smile genuinly after a long long time. The reason for her happiness is only one person, and he is-"

"Kongpob." I finished for her.

There was a moment of silence and we both looked at particularly no where, drowning in our own sea of doubts and misery.

"P'-" she started but I interrupted.

"So what do you want me to do? Give up on Kongpob? She threatened me,if you do not know that part. She said she will tear me apart." I said, with my eyes brimming with tears. After all she would want the best for her friend too.

"P' listen.. I am not saying you should give up on P'Kongpob-"

"Well, what are you getting at? Isn't it obvious, now that you have your dear friend holding onto her only lifeline, which is my only lifeline too, you would want the best for your friend, right? See, I know it's difficult to let down your friend and support me. I know you would die of guilt for your friend. I know you wouldn't want your friend to suffer.... But he is all I have got, even though it's one-sided. I am sorry okay? You don't have to support me here on. I can manage myself. I can fix it myself.....and mind you fix it myself doesn't mean-"

"Shut up, would you?" she snapped outrageously.

I looked at her at shock because I have never seen her snap like that before. She was a girl who would always and smile and would cheer others up, never once losing her temper. Realizing that, I was shocked, she came closer to me and softened her expression as though telling me that she didn't mean to be disrespectful.

"P', will you please listen to me?" she said, trying to smile and console me.

I nodded my head and moved a bit away.

"P' like I said, Adel has been my Dearest friend for a long time and she means so much to me. She was the only friend I used to have. And I am also sorry if I gave you the idea that I was gonna take her side and ruin your life. Because I won't do that. You mean just as much as she means to me. You both are equally  important to me. And also I can't do that cause P'Kongpob doesn't like her in that way. She is still yearning and hoping for the affection that she never got. She thinks that  P'Kongpob is the only person who will ever stand by her. And she believes that she will make him look at her. But it's obvious that it will never happen. He already likes someone else." she said sincerely hoping that her message sailed safely across to my head without any misunderstanding.
