Parker and I both ended up falling asleep on the hospital bed. I knew Parker would be coming home soon and it made me so happy. I love him.
My alarm went off. I didn't comprehend anything for a minute, but then I realized I stayed a little later than I should of and I must of fell asleep.
I checked my phone and I had 50 missed calls from my mom. I decided to hop out of bed and call her back. After all, she was probably worried.
"Honey, are you okay?" My mom asked frantically.
"Yeah mom. I'm fine. I just fell asleep at the hospital." I told her.
"You're still with Parker?" She asked.
"Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?" I asked.
"I just thought you would have left by now." My mom said casually.
I shrugged it off and told her I would be home soon. She told me to simply not rush.
I walked back into Parker's hospital room and he was standing up looking at some flowers.
"You shouldn't be out of bed." I whispered in his ear.
I wrapped my hands around has waist and stood behind him.
He turned around and put some of my loose hair behind my ear. He smiled and kissed me.
"These are some nice flowers." He said.
I looked over to see the flowers. The thing was, I got him flowers, yeah, but not those flowers.
"Parker, I didn't get you those flowers." I said confused.
He looked just as confused as me. Who got him those flowers?
"If you didn't get then for me, then who did?" Parker said out loud.
"Look at the tag." I suggested.
Just then, Parker looked at the tag and dropped it almost as quick as he picked it up.
He turned around to face me. He looked genuinely confused.
"You swear these aren't from you?" Parker asked me.
"I swear." I told him. "The flowers I bought you are over there." I said as I pointed to the flowers I had bought Parker.
He shook his head.
"These say it's from my dad." He said dead serious.
"Okay?" I said. "What's so bad about that?" I asked.
"My dad and I haven't talked in years. He left my mom and I once he found out my mom had cancer." Parker said.
He shook is head. Then he grabbed the flowers and walked over to the garbage. There, he continued to throw them away.
He turned around took look at me. Parker looked hurt. I've never seen him like that, ever.
I walked over to Parker and held him. I wrapped my arms around him as he did the same with me.
We sat there in silence for a little while.
"He wants to meet up with me Leilani." Parker whispered.
I looked up at him not breaking the physical contact.
"Are you going to? You know, meet up with him?" I asked Parker.
He shook his head. "No. He left my mom when she was most vulnerable. He cheated on her ever night." He said.
"I'll never forgive him. The only part he has in my life is paying for my bills and necessities as child support." He said.
I never knew anything about Parker's mom or dad. He just simply never talked about them. Now, I know why.
"You should sit down Parker." I told him.
He shook his head in agreement and I  walked him over to his bed. Parker sat down and looked at me. All of a sudden he started smiling.
"What?" I laughed.
"The dance. It's next week. I get out of the hospital in 3 days." Parker said with a smile.
"Parker," I sighed "As much as I want you to go, you got shot. You can't just go to a dance." I told him honestly.
"Come on Leilani." Parker said. "I already talked to your mom. She said you bought your dress so I bought a matching suit." Parker said with a grin.
"Are you serious?" I asked Parker.
"Yes. And I'm also not taking no for an answer." Parker said with a smile.
"Fine, I'll go." I agreed.
Parker smiled and got up from the bed. He walked over to the flowers I bought him. He picked off a flower and walked back to me. He put it behind my ear.
"Beautiful, like always." Parker said.
I couldn't help but to smile and laugh. I'm so glad I got into that car with Parker. I'm so glad I met him.
"See. I love that smile." Parker said as he looked at me.
I blushed and we both leaned into a kiss.
My fingers brushed through his hair as he grabbed my waist.
"You're perfect Leilani." Parker whispered in my ear.
I looked back at him. "You are too Parker." I said with a smile.
That's when Parker got up and pushed me on the bed. He started tickling me. I couldn't help but laugh.
We both rolled over laughing as we were holding hands.
Suddenly a man walked into the room. He had darker colored hair and light colored eyes, just like Parker.
Parker sat up.
"Dad." Parker said.
