Chapter 7 -- Eye Candy

Parker always made me happy. He didn't even have to try. Sure, everyone stared at us. Every girl saw me as the new girl taking their eye candy. And with Homecoming coming up, everyone started hating me more. But I was okay. As long as I had Parker next to me.
"Hey." Parker said with a smile as he put his arm around me.
"Hey." I said grabbing his hand and smiling back.
Every girl in the hall that passed us rolled their eyes. Parker laughed everytime they did so.
"So there's this dance coming up." Parker said looking down at me.
"Yeah...." I said smiling.
"So I was thinking that you could come over, and you know. We could pig out while everyone is partying." Parker said seriously.
"Wait, are you for real right now?" I asked.
"Nah. I wanna ask this girl, but I dont know how to." He joked.
"Just ask her." I said.
"I don't want to 'just ask her.' She's special." Parker said seriously.
"Oh really." I joked with him.
"Yeah. She has down syndrome. It's really bad. She always looks like she's high too. Poor girl." Parker said with a laugh.
I couldn't help but to break down in laughter.
"I'm serious Leilani." Parker said with a laugh.
I hit him playfully and couldn't stop laughing. Tha last period bell rang indicating that it was time to go home.
"Drive me home?" I asked Parker.
"I gottchu." Parker said.
PARKERS POV :
(ty Gabbie for giving me new ideas :))
I drove Leilani home. She looked beautiful. I couldn't help but to worry about the dance. I wanted it to be perfect. She deserves it. She deserves all the happiness in the world and I want to be the one who gives it to her.
"Thanks Parker." Leilani said when I pulled into her driveway.
She gave me a kiss, grabbed her bag, and started to walk inside. Now, for me. Time to drive home to an empty house.
My mom and dad got divorced when I was younger. My dad was always cheating. My mom eventually found out. She also found out she had cancer. My dad had no sympathy and didn't care about her or me. The day he found out about it, he filed for divorce and brought many women home.
So technically I live with my dad, but he's never home. He has his own condo and pays for mine so he doesn't have anything to do anything with me. It's like his social security. So he doesn't feel bad for himself.
I get home and immediately start work on the poster I have for Leilani. It was really cheesy, but I knew Leilani would love it. That's the thing I love most about her.
-- Leilani's POV --
It was the next morning. I knew Parker would be here soon to pick me up, so I put on my outfit I picked out the night before.

I heard Parkers car in the driveway so I ran outside, except it wasn't Parker's car. I didn't even recognize it at all. Then a man stepped out. It was Liam.
He ran up to me and grabbed my arm. I had no idea what he was doing. Then I realized it. He was trying to shove me in the car. He planned on leaving my house with me.
I tried to fight him off. I didn't know if Parker was close or not. I didn't know how much longer I could fight Liam off.
I kept kicking him, biting him. Anything that could save me. Nothing worked. He overpowered me like it was nothing.
I was in the car. He locked the doors from the outside and right before he could get in through his side, Parkers car pulled in the driveway.
I started screaming and making as much notice as possible. Parker caught on and got out to the to charge at Liam. Parker put Liam up against the car and started hitting him.
Liam fell to the ground and Parker wasted no time. He opened my car door and grabbed my hand.
"Come on before he gets up." Parker yelled.
"You're not going anywhere."
Suddenly Parker and I turned around.
There was Liam ... with a gun and it was pointed right at us.
