Ty's POV:
I bang as hard as I can on the door of the bathroom that Arabella has locked herself into. Various nurses have surrounded the door and are yelling to doctors. Finally, someone comes by with a key and unlocks the door.
Arabella is lying on the floor in a small pool of blood. She's unconscious. I stand back as nurses rush forward into the bathroom and carry her away to a hospital room. This is all Elise's fault.
I hurry back to Mike's room and just stand at the doorway. "Ty, why are you crying?" I slowly walk towards him and bury my head in his shoulder. "Something's wrong. She's not just sad at this point, something is very wrong."

That's why I'm here at Elise's house. To search for clues. Elise isn't home, she's still off hiding from Mike and the cops. The door is unlocked, so I walk right in.
After about an hour of searching, I come across a journal in the bedroom. It looks like a diary.
I read the whole thing in less than an hour, and I'm horrified at the things Elise has done to her, but the thing that stands out the most to me is the last entry.
I want to die.
The words send chills down my spine. I can imagine walking into Ara's room, and finding her dead. It's horrible to think about. Ara has always been such a happy person, but she's been through so much in the past year. It's ridiculous that such horrible things had to happen to such a good person; so much that she had to resort to only confiding her deepest and darkest secrets into this small, meaningless journal hidden underneath her mattress.
Even the thought of her writing those words disturb me. Was she crying? Did she look around to make sure no one was watching? Did she plan on writing it?
Would she actually do it?
I don't have time to think about all of these things. I run back downstairs and through the door, clutching the journal in my right hand.
Is she depressed? Is she suicidal? What if that's the reason why she's in the hospital right now; did she do that on purpose? Why was she puking before she fell unconscious?
I have so many questions running through my head, so I try to focus on driving before I spiral out of control, both inside and out.
When I arrive at the hospital, they inform me on what happened.
"We had to flush her stomach. She swallowed, um..." The young nurse closes her eyes and takes a deep breath. "She swallowed a ton of pills, and that's why she was vomiting. She blacked out and fell on the ground, so she has a minor concussion." Even the nurse starts to cry.
"I'm sorry, it's just- I don't usually deal with the suicide cases." Then, she runs off into the bathroom. Well, that answers most of my questions.
Ara is sitting in the hospital bed; shaking all over. When she sees me walk in, she motions for me to sit on the bed with her. When I do, she takes my hand and stares off into the distance.
"I'm assuming you want an explanation." She says as she plays with the bottom of her hospital gown. I just nod. She sighs, but still won't look at me. "Before the ambulances came for Mike, I took a lot pills. I'm not sure what they were; they were a bunch of different kinds. I took a lot. Like one hundred maybe, and I thought I would just die while I was sitting in the waiting chair. But I didn't, so I thought I would die in Mike's room. I puked them up. You already know that, though." Her voice waivers a little, but she doesn't cry. I don't whether she's strong or numb.
"This is because of Elise, isn't it? She's doing this to you. You don't hide the bruises very well, Ara." I try to point out one on her wrist, but I notice she is wearing a lot of bracelets. She hates bracelets.
"Shit- fuck, Ara! You are not!" I whisper loudly, not wanting to alert any doctors. I can feel everything connecting in my mind. She doesn't flinch as I pull the bracelets off of her small wrist. How am I just now noticing how small she is? "Have you lost weight?" I ask her. She turns her head to face away from mine as I run my fingers over the scars and fresh cuts on her arm. They're deep, and there's a lot of them. "Ara, please..." I plead with her, but she won't respond.
"Has Elise come to visit me?" Her voice cracks as she says it. "How would she know you were- Ara, there's a warrant out for her arrest. She's abusing you, and she tried to kill Mike! You can't seriously be worrying about her!" No matter how loud I scream in her face, it looks like my words are not registering in her mind.
"She's all alone out there. She needs me." I grab her arm to make sure that she's not going to leave.
"When did you become this person, Ara? This empty, broken person?"
