I shot up in bed breathing heavily, crying. Zen shot up in bed, hearing me scream and hugged me. "Hey, it's ok. It was just a dream," he said stroking my hair. I sat rocking myself back and forth while he wrapped my arms around me. I sat curled up into his arms like that for minutes until he finally got up. He came back with some hot chocolate and turned on the tv for me. I sat watching it, still in shock. Zen walked into the kitchen and I could smell him making him chocolate chip pancakes. A couple of minutes later he walked in with two trays of chocolate chip pancakes and fruit. I smiled, thanking him. "You know, your amazing right?" I asked. He looked down at his food and smiled, blushing a little. He looked up and right into my eyes. "Thanks, but that is all you." I had a big piece of chocolate on my cheek so he took his finger and wiped my cheek. His hand was soft and smooth. I looked into his focused eyes and smiled. We finished eating then I went into my room. I put some running clothes on and tied my running shoes tight. I walked out the door and started to run. The dream was running through my head when a guy came up to me and whistled. I stopped and looked at him. It was Tanner. Tanner was a tall and arrogant football player. He had brown hair that flopped and fair skin. He had straight white teeth and perfect lips. He also hated Zen because he is the starting quarterback and not him. "Heya cutie?" he said whistling. I rolled my eyes. "What do you want Tanner?" I asked. "Oh come on doll don't act like you don't want this," he said flashing me a devilish smile, "come on hop in the car let me take you for a ride." I shook my head no and kept running. He followed me and kept talking to me. I finally stopped and yelled "NO! Ok, go away. I am not interested." I said through gritted teeth. "You like Zen don't you? Why does everyone like Zen? Because he is perfect? Well, he isn't and I know that. He took quarterback away from me," Tanner said screaming, throwing his hands on the wheel. "NO! He earned that spot! Now leave me alone!" I screamed running off into the distance. I did not know that one conversation would make him hate Zen even more and possibly ruin his career.
I was still out running and Blake, Ash, and James were out running errands when I got a call from the neighbors. "Hello? Yes, your house is on fire." they said, "we have contacted 911 but come, there is someone in the house!" the neighbor said panicking. I sprinted home, tears streaming down my face. James, Ash, and Blake arrived the same time at me. I screamed in horror "ZEN!! NO ZEN!!" I tried running in but Ash held me back. "No Paige, we have already lost mom I can't lose you too," Ash said, tears running down her face. I sank to the ground crying. I look up to see James sprinting inside the house. Ash and I both let out a scream, crying together. Aj, Kanna, Kate, and Nicole arrived a couple minutes later. They ran to us, Kate, Kanna, and AJ hugging me but Nicole looked around. "Where is James?" she asked worriedly. I looked up at her and hugged her. "He went in to save Zen," I said through tears. She fell to the ground crying but looked up when she heard footsteps. James was walking out of the house, carrying Zen. They both had severe burns and Zen was unconscious. James set Zen down, just as the paramedics arrived. They put Zen in an ambulance and drove off. Nicole hugged James, telling him never to worry her like that again. Ash came up to me. "Hey sis? Have you seen Blake?" she asked. I shook my head but then looked past her to see him chasing after a dude. I squinted trying to see the figure and I gasped when I saw Tanner. I gasped and started breathing heavily angry. I ran toward Tanner. He stopped me by putting his hand on my head, "Pretty girl trying to hurt me huh?" he said smiling. I spun around, knocking his legs out from under him. I sat on top of him punching his face. "Don't ever ever underestimate me again you ass hole." I said getting up and brushing myself off. The police came over and cuffed Tanner and I walked back to everyone. There faces were in shock. I had blood on my knuckles and my shirt but I didn't care. I looked up at them "I box when I am at the gym." I said laughing a little. They nodded and laughed, but we stopped laughing when we saw the house crash down. I sighed and shook my head. I had mascara running down my cheeks and I sat down curled myself into a ball and rocked myself on the sidewalk.
