Stand A Chance
He could have any girl he wanted. There are a bunch of girls just throwing themselves at at. There are girls messaging in on Instagram and Twitter all the time. He could be walking down the street and a girl walks by him, he could stop and talk to her and she would be on her knee just by his smile. He could have any girl he wants. I don't stand a chance. I' m just his friend that he meet when he first moved to Toronto.
"Y/N how did your date go yesterday?" I turned in my seat to look at Steph.
"It was terrible. Ate with his mouth open. Didn't really let me talk it was all about him. I bought my own food. The whole night was just really bad." I looked back out onto the ice.
"Mitch said you went to Auston right after."
"I did. He text me asking me how it was going and when I told him he said for me to come over."
"That is the third date in a row that was gone bad and you end up at Auston house." She wasn't wrong.
Auston and I have gotten pretty close since he got drafted to Toronto. With me being a big Maple Leafs fan I kinda almost freak out when I first meet him. I didn't think I would see him again on out on the ice and on the tv but we kept running into each other. The second time we did he came up to me which I was surprise after the way I was the first time. We just kept hanging out, calling and texting one another. Over time I developed feelings for him but pushed them away because I knew I didn't stand a chance. There was no way Auston Matthews would go out with someone like me.
"I guess your right. I don't know why I just want to forget the date I was just on and Auston helps weather its watching highlights or playing video games that I am clearly really bad at but it helps." I shrug my shoulders.
"It helps because you like him and after a bad date you want to go to the person that you actually want to go on a date with." My eyes went wide for a minute.
"What are you talking about Steph?" I haven't told anyone that I liked him.
"Y/N with the amount of time you both spend together. You both like each other one of you just needs to man up and confess your feelings."
"Auston doesn't like him."
"Babe yes he does."
"I don't know how much you have had to drink but" I point down to the ice "Auston Matthews down there does not like me. He could have any girl. I don't stand a chance." I could only wish Steph was telling the truth.
"You do stand a chance. You just have to talk to him." If I talk to him then he will just laugh in my face and that is not happening.
Leafs won in overtime which means some of the guys are going to want to go out. I could use another beer or two.
Steph and I walked down to the locker room to wait for the guys to come out. As we were waiting I noticed this girl that I haven't seen before she was wearing a Matthews jersey. Her legs were long. Long brown straight hair. A little too much makeup for a hockey game. Does she even know what icing the puck means?
"Who is that?" I leaned over to Steph. She looked up and saw who I was talking about.
"I don't know I haven't seen her before."
"She's wear Auston's jersey." I point out the obvious.
"Jealous?"
"No I was just saying that she was wearing Auston's jersey does she know him?" Looking at her in his jersey and then looking down at the same jersey I was wearing. I wanted to take it over. She looked so much better in it then I did.
