Start A Family
"Hey Spencer are you ready? We have to leave now buddy if we are going to make it for warm ups." I called up the stair to my eight year old son.
"Mom I can't find my jersey." He yelled back.
"Your Landeskog jersey on the back of your door." I looked at the time again.
"No I don't want that one. I want the one Nat gave me the other day." I sighed and walked up the stair. I knew we were going to go anywhere till he had that jersey.
Nat and I have been dating for a year and half now. I introduced Spencer to Nat after dating Nat for almost a year. I didn't want them to meet till I knew I saw something with Nat. I probably didn't have to wait so long but I just wanted to make sure. I didn't want Spencer getting to attached to him and then us end up break up. Nat was really understanding and went at my speed.
Spencer and Nat hit off right away. They meet after one of Spencer's hockey games. Nat really wanted to watch him play so I thought it would be perfect. Nat has been helping Spencer with his hockey whenever he has a question or need help with plays.
Nat had giving Spencer a jersey with Nat's name on the back because my son won't stop talking about getting his jersey. That is what he is currently looking fo right now.
"Honey we are going to be late. We will look for it tomorrow." The look on his face was heart breaking. He went to get his Landeskog jersey and put it over his head and walked out the door.

When we got to the arena Spencer was still upset about losing the jersey Nat got for him. I kept trying to think back to last time I saw it and I just couldn't remember. I hated to see him like this.
We got down the ice to watch the warm up. Once we got a spot both teams came out. I saw Nat skating around he looked up and made eye contact with me right away. I could feel the butterflies like ever time I see him, its like the first time. I saw him look at Spencer and his smile dropped a little seeing he was upset. I saw him skate over to the bench and pick up something. He waved up over.
"Hey bud lets go see Nat really quick and we will go to our seats." He nodded his head and walked in front of me.
"You are suppose to be warming up." I told Nat.
"Yeah but I found this in my car and thought someone might want to wear it." He held up the jersey we have been looking for. I looked down at my son and his face just lit up.
"I thought I lost it." He went to grab the jersey.
"You just lost it in the back seat of my car." We all laughed. Spencer put the jersey on and handed my the only we was wearing. "Are we still on for this weekend?"
Nat asked me if I wanted spend the weekend in cabin just the two of us. I had asked Spencer's dad to see if he could take him for another weekend. He said that he would love to.
Spencer's dad and I have a hard past and it was always easy but we are in a place now that we can talk about hat is best for Spencer.
"Yes we are all good. I can't wait."

I was finishing packing Spencer's things for the weekend. His dad called saying he was going to be a little late which wasn't a big deal. I didn't mind and I'm sure Nat won't either when he come to pick me up.
I heard a knock at the door. I heard Spencer run to opened mostly expecting to see his dad but Nat was there.
"Hey buddy?" He looked at me confused.
