i tug at the neck of my tight fitting, red v-neck sweater.

the fabric itched against my porcelain skin.

soon enough, i wouldn't be able to wear tight shirts, thanks to the growing baby bump.

"baby, i told you it's a surprise.
calm yourself."

finn placed his hand on the inside of my thigh, tracing shapes with his fingertips on my bare skin.

i shivered, crossing my arms and staring impatiently out the window.

"i still can't believe maddie let you borrow her car."

"favors come with a price, baby. of course i had to bribe the crazy bitch."

"unbelievable."

my brows furrowed, watching several raindrops fall elegantly down the glass.

"you're ravishing when you're annoyed at me."

his husky voice rang in my ears, playing over and over again, like an easing, soothing lullaby.

"since when have you started to use clever words like 'ravishing', finnie?"

i snickered, clinging onto the ends of my loose, messily styled, chestnut curls.

"i thought skimming through the dictionary would impress you."

finn grazed the back of his neck in embarrassment and shot me a dorky smile.

i raised my eyebrows, shaking my head and grinning.

"...not that i needed to impress you in the first place, flower."
