run through the parking lot- he chased me and he wouldn't stop
tag, you're it.
tag, tag, you're it.
grab my hand, push me down-
took the words right out my mouthChapter 4 : strawberry-cigarettes and flashing lights.
—————————-my closed eyes slowly fluttered open. the morning sunlight sept through the blinds. i groaned and arched my back to stretch.
thud.
was that.. a chest? i flipped over and unknowingly bumped noses with the snoring finn wolfhard, who was cradling me like a baby.
were we.. cuddling..? what no, ew, gross.
right?his eyelashes fluttered as he was disturbed by the sudden movement.
how did i get here...?
what- what was that?
i looked down at my bare wrist. there was an ugly black, purple, blue, and red handprint from where someone gripped my wrist with obvious force.
suddenly it came back to me.
s-shit
"she's a pretty one eh? let's see what you can do, princess."
i shuddered, letting a wimper escape my lips.
a hot tear ran down my cheek and fell into my partially opened mouth.
the sweet and salty taste hit my tounge.
now i remember what happened, but how did i get here? why am i in finn's arms? what-
"hey..."
a groggy, early morning voice trailed on. his raspy words sent a shiver up my spine.
"finn.."
i whispered. he held a pointer finger up to my lips, as to shush me.
my cherry lips hit his finger.
"you don't need to talk... just- just sleep."
he weakly smiled down at me, as to keep it together, just for me.
"finn, i... i-"
the words slurred off my tounge.
what was that awful taste in my mouth?
it was a mix of morning breath, headache Tylenol, and something else.
i gagged.
"millie, you need to rest. i'll be back in a bit."
he kissed my forehead softly.
finn never called me millie. ever.
well, once. it was a few years ago when he found out that my foster brother, charlie, hit me across the face in 6th grade.
