millie's lips turned upwards, forming a small, tired smile.

"rescuing you, of course."

noah grinned, flinging his arm around millie's shoulder.

millie was startled by noah's sudden movement, her being not used to loving physical contact for a while now.

"how?"

her mouth parted slightly, looking up at noah.

"well, we need proof for the police, that this home is dangerous for you. if angela has hurt you, or done anything resulting in you getting hurt, then we can take you back to my apartment, and you can live with us. easy peasy, lemon squeasy."

maddie proclaimed confidentially.

"no. that's not easy. it's difficult. lemon difficult. whenever, uhm, she-, hits me-, she always gives me these pills and ointments to make sure they heal quickly. so there's really no physical evidence.."

millie sighed, her voice shaking, and eyes glued to the kitchen floor.

maddie's confident expression sank.

noah's eyes wandered around the room.

"uhm, millie?"

he whispered.

"yeah?"

"you said she does hit you though, right?"

"ye-yeah.."

"millie, are there security cameras around the whole house?"

"one in every room.. angela said they move the lense automatically when they sense movement. i have something covering the kitchen one so we don't get caught-"

"THATS IT!!"

maddie squealed.

"what's it?!"

everyone else but noah and maddie exclaimed.

"we're finna bust her sorry ass."

noah chirped, his smile beginning to grow.
