*trigger warning*
slight verbal/physical abuse. ⚠️sorry this took SO LONG to post, i'm not in a good mental state right now, and these next few chapters are hard to write. <3 this is sorta a filler chapter before it gets spicy.

"And I could no longer ignore
The ivy growing tall
This life don't suit me anymore
The writing's on the wall"
——
millie's povmy whole body was consumed by fear.
my eyes were strained. i couldn't open them without surely enflaming them in their sockets.
the thick, cotton fabric of the bedspread stiffened around my lifeless body.
i did not want to wake up and live this nightmare of a reality.
"wake up, you ungrateful bitch !!"
the woman i now learned to fear pounded her overly-sized fists against my plain, wooden door.
"did you hear me?! get your slutty ass out of bed, right now !!"
frustrated fury was mixed in with the in influence of alcohol in her voice.
she pounded on the door with more force, and with more threat attached.
my bottom lip quivered.
an almost silent sob left my throat.
i peeled the floral bedding off of my figure with my feet and sat upright.
my hands tore at the skin of my face.
the locks that before framed my face perfectly was split at the ends, losing its vibrant, shiny color, and was coated with layers of natural, unattractive grease.
my discolored skin and heavy eyes didn't seem right.
what have i become?
"come down the stairs, right now, millicent jane barbara brown. right fucking now !!"
i had no choice but to sorrowfully obey.
i took one last glance around my almost bare bedroom.
it was quite sad, really.
most of my belongings had been stripped out.
next to my bed, was the only source of light in the room.
the window.
next door, was finn's house.
finn.
fuck, millie, don't think about him.
