The rest of the day went by quickly. The worst it got were a few shoves here and there and a few mean whispers about me between friends as they walked past us. Whichever friend I was with at the time was really great, and they protected me like I was their most prized possession.
The scariest thing that happened to me all day apart from being slapped by Cheryl was when a girl stormed up to me and started calling me names and shouting.
She yelled that I was a murderer who deserved to rot in hell whilst her and Ed Sheehan watched from heaven or something weird like that. I don't really know she's one of those emo kids who wears black shirts and leggings with a red flannel sometimes and she had jet black hair with a white streak. I'm pretty sure her name is Selina or something along those lines.
After school Kurt proposed that we all go to his favourite cafe, "Wanda Shicks" because apparently they make the most delicious cinnamon scrolls and he's trying to get the secret recipe. He said he'd bring Drew along too.
We all arrived at the cafe and took our seats, Drew with his arm around Mia, Jackson with his arm around Lucy, Kurt with his arm around Tiani and then Jake and I sitting there kind of awkwardly.
"Hi there welcome to Wanda Shicks I'm Cameron and I'll be your waiter for today," a cheery guy, probably around our age stated as he came up to us on roller skates.
"Hi I'll ha-" Jackson began but was abruptly cut off by Kurt.
"Look here Ron," Kurt started, leaning forward and interlacing his fingers together in front of him as if he were handling serious business.
"It's Cameron," he replied a little weirded out.
"Cameron? Yeah nah can I call you Ron?" Kurt asked.
"No." Cameron deadpanned.
"I'm calling you Ron," Kurt concluded making Cameron roll his eyes. "Look, I've been coming here for a while now, and I must say, your cinnamon scrolls are to DIE FOR!"
"Uhh thanks?"
"And I was just wondering Ron, if you would be so kind as to, well I don't know, give me the secret recipe perhaps?" He said with a giant sickly sweet smile on his face.
"No."
"You like saying "no" a lot don't you Ron?" Kurt chuckled.
"Yes."
"Yes you'll give me the recipe?" Kurt grinned.
"Yes to saying no a lot," he responded.
"Too late you said yes."
"No," Cameron sighed.
"Yes," Kurt argued back.
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"No."
"Yes," Cameron said but then realised all to late that Kurt had fooled his sorry butt.
"Aha! Gotcha Ron! You owe me a recipe now son," he laughed.
"It's Cameron and I owe you nothing," he grumbled rolling his eyes.
"Now now Ronny, we wouldn't want an honest kid like you going back on his word now would we?" Kurt teased.
"Ugh, do you guys want to order something or not?" Cameron huffed.
"A strawberry milkshake thanks," I piped up, resulting in a smile from Cameron.
