"You know this is ridiculous. Right?" I said, shutting my locker and looking over at Gio who leaned against the wall beside it.
After three days of being home and just resting for the sake of my "mother's peace of mind." I finally was able to persuade her into allowing me to go to school today. I couldn't take being stuck in the apartment, listening to my mother's constant health tips and being forced to eat nothing but dry leaves. You know it was bad, since I practically begged to come to school. SCHOOL. GEORGIAN, ME, BEG. That didn't even sound right.
I rolled my eyes and tucked my textbook under my arm as I examined Gio's smug face.
"What?" he asked. "I'm here to see my old teachers."
"You hate your teachers and your old teachers hate you. I saw some of them wince at the sight of you coming down the hall."
"That's just how we communicate." He waved off. "They love me."
"I don't need a babysitter and I'm sure you got somewhere to be." I began to walk away and unfortunately, he followed me.
"My class doesn't start for another hour."
"Gio." I groaned.
"Okay, let me just make sure you get to your class."
"I am fine, I've been going here long enough to locate my classes on my one." I flashed him a sarcastic smile then rolled my eyes again. "Please Gio, don't embarrass me."
"Me? embrassing, come on girl. To walk next to a legend like me should be an honor." He tried to throw his arm over my shoulder but I dodged him before he could, bumping into a strong chest, so strong is caused my back to instantly ache. "Ow!" I exclaimed, turning around to face Trey Wiggins. My man crush, every. Single. Day. Oh, God took his time when he created him.
"My bad," we both said causing him to chuckle. I surveyed his outfit and of course, he was wearing Grey sweatpants. Lord, Lord, Lord. I immediately grew hot. Trey licked his lips and our eyes connected, "you alright?" he asked.
"Yeah, I'm f-."
"She's good." Gio spoke up for me.
Trey looked up at Gio and grinned, "Gio! My man!" he stepped around me, to dap my brother up. "You good bro?"
"I'm blessed." Gio responded. Of course, stealing all my shine.
"How's college ball?"
"More serious that I expected. I hope you aint slacking off now that I'm gone."
"Slacking off? Never." Trey laughed. "I'm trying to get like you."
"You got a long way to go, I seen those stats." My brother smirked.
Trey's brow raised. "You sure? Because if you saw my stats you'd be kissing the ground I walk on by now."
"You wish." I inched closer to them as they spoke, more so to get a good look at Trey and maybe catch his attention. I had spent time picking out todays outfit, one of my best to date. It wasn't for anyone in particular, but being as he was my all-time crush, it might as well have been for him.
"Wish?! This season is my best season yet."
"I was playing your best when I was injured."
"Please." Trey laughed, "if we were to go one on one, you wouldn't be able to handle me and you know that's fact."
"Boy. I know that's a goal on yours but let's face it... it's never going to happen." Gio laughed, patting Trey's shoulder. "I'll teach you a little one, two though when you're ready."
