AN: yerin's eyepatch is the same as the one jinsoul(odd eye circle)wore in the sweet crazy love MV. I've actually always thought it looked kinda cool hahah.
- seriously!
I yelled as I bumped into another wall corner. The doctor had given me an eyepatch because one of my eyes had gotten swollen from the marker, so I couldn't see what was in the way on one side. The worst part was that Hongseok couldn't stop laughing every time it happened.
- I did offer to help you make sure it doesn't happen.
He said.
- but then you wouldn't be able to enjoy this.
I said, and rolled my eyes.
- you're right.
He said, and grinned.
- but.. it doesn't actually hurt, right?
Hongseok asked, and got a look of worry. Cute.
- Just my pride.
I said.We started looking for the hospital exit, when I remembered I had to find a lobby to pay for my treatment.
While we walked down a hallway, I spotted a woman that looked strangely familiar. Not a person I had seen a lot, but someone I had seen.. a long time ago.
Mom?
No...It couldn't be. I had to get a closer look. But the woman had disappeared. It couldn't have been her. It made no sense. And I hadn't seen her for eighteen years. She wouldn't even look the same as back then. I decided to let it go. There was no reason for me to try to figure out if it really was her. Because I didn't want it to be her.
I never wanted to see her again.- damn it.
I said.
I had walked straight into a chair.
- ok that's it. Just take my hand.
Hongseok said.
- I can't. There's too many people here.
I said.
- I don't care.
He said.
- it doesn't matter. You're not the only one that will suffer if you do this here.
I said.
If we showed affection in front of all these people, there would be a scandal. And pentagon had suffered enough because of scandals.
- I know.
Hongseok said, and sighed. We didn't talk about it anymore. We found a lobby and went up to the counter.
- Kim Yerin. I'm here to pay for my treatment.
I said.
- Kim Yerin? Are you perhaps related to Kim Jaehyuk in room 307?
The woman behind the counter asked.
- yes, I am.
I said.
- congratulations.
She said.
What? What the hell did she just say? My brother is dying.. and she's congratulating me?
I was about to go off on her, but then she handed me a piece of paper.
I took the paper, and looked at it.
What is this?
An anonymous person had donated money for a surgery. A brain tumor removal surgery.
Who could have done that?
Seunghee? Or was it maybe.. my mother?
No. I refused to believe it could be her.
This was definitely something Seunghee would do. I would have to ask her later.I payed for my treatment. I just wanted to get out of here.
- let's not leave yet.
Hongseok suddenly said.
- why?
I asked him.
- because you should go see your brother.
He answered.
I wasn't ready. I had no idea what I would say. And I didn't know if he even wanted to see me. Because I had finally started to understand why he didn't want to stay in the hospital. This place was so depressing. And I think he knew he would die. So he wanted to die at home, peacefully. Somewhere he felt comfortable.
But if they performed the surgery.. didn't it mean he would live?- ok. I'll go see him.
I said.
- then let's go.
Hongseok said.
- just not today.
I said.
I needed time to gather my thoughts and figure out what to tell him when I see him.
- tomorrow then.
Hongseok said.
- yeah. Tomorrow.
I said.We met up with Seunghee.
- I need to talk to you.
I told her.
- I don't have time to talk.
Seunghee said.
- why not?
I asked her.
- I have to leave immediately after dropping you guys off back at your house.
She said.
It felt like she was trying to avoid talking to me. But I decided not to bring it up.Seunghee dropped us off, and left.
- are you hungry?
I asked hongseok when we entered the house.
- not really.
He answered.
- me neither.
I said.
- do you want to spend some time in bed then?
I asked him.
He probably didn't considering I probably looked like a mentally unstable pirate.
- of course I do.After we slept together, we just laid in bed, talking. I really wanted to tell him what I thought I had seen at the hospital. But I decided I would tell Seunghee about it first.
I looked at the clock and realized hongseok had to leave any minute if he was going to uphold the curfew Hui had set.But he still stayed.
