AN: I still feel so bad for Jaehyuk..

•Hongseok's POV•

I hadn't seen Yerin for about 6 days. It was mainly because I was busy with promotions. But she hadn't even answered my calls or texts.
I knew what had happened of course. Seunghee could never keep a secret.
But I didn't get why it was so bad. Her brother was finally in the hospital. He might even have a chance to beat the cancer now.
Seunghee was the only one that Yerin wanted to see right now I guess. It hurt me.
But it wasn't the fact that Yerin didn't want to see me that hurt. The fact that I wasn't there to comfort her was the part that hurt. I bet she was hurting a hundred times more than me though.

Seunghee was currently at our dorm, making food for Yuto.
I decided to go ask her about Yerin. She always had something new to say. I felt like that was the reason she had been visiting our dorm everyday this week. To tell me about Yerin. She really cared about Yerin. I guess she cared a lot about me too. She always tried to cheer me up.
- Hongseok! You have to try this!
Seunghee said as I entered the kitchen. Then she shoved something in my face. It didn't even hit my mouth so it fell to the floor.
- Oopsie
She said, and giggled.

She even had to stop Yuto from eating it off the ground.
- seriously man. You have a problem.
I told him.
- I got 99 problems but this isn't one of them.
Yuto said, and smirked.
- very original.
I said.

- I think you should come with me today.
Seunghee suddenly said, after she finished laughing at Yuto.
- come with you? To Yerin?
I asked.
- where else would I take you.
She said, and grinned.
- did she say I could come?
I asked her.
- well.. no. But she didn't say you couldn't come either.
She answered, and smirked.

Even though Yerin hadn't asked for me to come, I agreed with Seunghee. I couldn't let Yerin.. leave me again.

I wasn't going to let her. Not this time.

Seunghee drove us to Yerins house, and I ran inside. Where is she?
- I'm gonna clean the kitchen.. you go look for her.
Seunghee said, and disappeared into the kitchen. I did notice it looked like the house hadn't been cleaned for a while. Usually it was Jaehyuk's girlfriend Krystal, that cleaned the house. But she had probably been spending all her time in the hospital.
Seunghee had told me about how Yerin refused to visit her brother. I could understand that. Her brother probably felt betrayed, and Yerin felt guilty.

I know I can make her understand that everyone would have done the same.

I went up to Yerin's room, and nocked on the door.
- Seunghee?
She said.
- No.. it's me.
I said.
- Santa?
She asked.

At least she still had her sense of humor.

- yes, it's Santa.
I said, and laughed.
- I fucking hate Santa.
She said.
.. what?
I was a bit taken back by her swearing. She probably didn't mean it though.

- just let me in.
I said.
It went quiet for a minute, but then the door got unlocked. I entered, but suddenly wish I hadn't. Yerin was wearing.. all black. And a studded collar necklace. Even her nails where black. And I didn't even want to think about all the black makeup on her eyes.
- Yerin.. what is going on?
I asked her.
- what do you mean?
She asked.
- the clothes.. the makeup.
I said.
- this is who I am now.
She said, looking dead serious.
No.. this isn't Yerin.
- I don't believe you. No one can change that quickly.
I said.

She stared intensely at me for about a minute.
- ... I hate wearing black I don't know why I'm like this.
Yerin said, and hugged me. Actually she was kind of crushing me. When did she become so strong?
- it's because you're trying to distract yourself from confronting whats making you feel like this.
I said.
- when did you become so smart?
Yerin said through her tears.
- I've always.. hey! why does everyone think I'm stupid?
I asked, making Yerin laugh.
- i love you.
She said.
- I love you more.
I said, and grinned.
- but seriously, what's the deal with your eyeliner?

•Yerin's POV•

- But seriously, what's the deal with your eyeliner?
Hongseok asked me.
I had completely forgotten about that.
Actually my eyes where itching.
- it's not eyeliner, I used a black marker..
I answered, and realized how stupid I sounded.
- are you serious?!
Hongseok said. he was almost yelling.
- I know I shouldn't have. My eyes are so itchy.
I said.
- yeah... we're gonna have to go to the hospital now.
Hongseok said.
The.. the hospital? But my brother was at the hospital. I can't go there.
- it's ok I'll just wash it off. Scrub it off?
I said, hoping he would let it go.
- you could go blind, Yerin.
He said.
- maybe that's what I deserve.

•Seunghee's POV•

After driving Yerin and Hongseok to the hospital, I decided to get a coffee from the hospital cafe. It tasted like death.
I threw away the coffee, and went to look for Hongseok. He wasn't allowed to come with Yerin inside the doctors office.
I walked around, feeling lost.
Everything looks the same here.
I decided to sit down on a bench in some hallway. The woman sitting next to me was crying. I looked though my purse, and found a pack of napkins.
When I handed her the napkins, I realized the woman was Krystal. Jaehyuk's girlfriend.
- Seunghee? What are you doing here?
She asked me, and took the napkins.
- Yerin used a marker as eyeliner.
I said.
Krystal laughed through her tears. I'm happy I could make her feel better. Only if for a second.
- is Jaehyuk ok?
I asked her.
- he is, for now.
She said.
- for now?
I asked.
- he.. he needs surgery.
She said.
- but..
She continued, but didn't finish the sentence.
- but what?
I asked her.
- I can't pay for it. I'm already drowning in the bills for his room and care.
She said, and started crying again.
- Didn't Yerin say she would pay for everything?
I asked.
- I haven't told her about the bills. And she wouldn't afford the surgery anyways.. it's so expensive..
she answered, and started crying even harder.

I have to do something...
- I'll be back, ok?
I told her.
I found the nearest lobby, and went up to the counter.
- excuse me?
I asked the lady behind the counter.
She literally ignored me, and answered a phone call.
- hello?
I said. But she didn't even look at me. I waited about five minutes before she actually acknowledged me.
- what can I help you with?
She said cheerfully, like she hadn't just disrespected me.
- I'm here to deposit money for a surgery.
