"Lady Rashida Wait, Please!"
A voice called after me as I prepared to leave. I turned sharply to see who was approaching me. Loki was behind me. I scoffed as I met eyes with the trickster.
"What could you possibly have to say to me?"
I hissed. Loki sighed and looked at me with what I would have assumed to be genuine hurt if it wasn't for the fact he was the god of lies.
"My lady, please, you must trust me. I did not kill your father."
"Didn't you? And besides, what reason do I have to trust you? You are the god of lies, deception. There is no reason for me to trust you, Loki, even if I wanted to."
Loki sighed and took my hand in his. He lifted my chin have my eyes meet his.
"Is there nothing I can do to change your mind? To win your affections?"
He murmured against the skin of my wrist as he pressed his lips to it once more. I yanked my hand away and glared at him.
"A Phoenix has no quarrel with the ice, my dear prince."
I hissed back. Loki chuckled at my clever comeback. He vanished in front of my and I realized his play again.
"That may be true but only partially, my princess. You could melt me any time."
He whispered in my ear and pushed himself against my back, delicately. He let his lips hover above my neck as if he were to tease me. I groaned against his efforts and tried to push him off of me.
"Loki stop this."
I hissed. Loki merely chuckled and tightened his grip on me. I could feel his warm breath against my skin.
"Make me, princess."
I let a shaken breath escape my lips and turned abruptly to face the prince. I grabbed his arm and looked into his blue green eyes.
"Loki, you could never be my prince. You could never rule my people along side me. Why? Because you are inferior to me. You repel me, Loki Laufyson."
He yanked his wrist away from my grasp and when he did he noticed scorch marks from where my hand was. He looked at me with hateful eyes.
"Fire and ice.."
He muttered before vanishing.

Back on Misr I watched as Amen Ra, my father was prepared for burial. They wrapped him in the traditional burial cloth and placed the gold mask of the Pharaohs upon his face. I watched as my father was laid to rest in his tomb, a day I had always hopped would never come. Mostly because I had no idea how to rule an entire country by myself.
"Your majesty, are you ready?"
Thoth asked as he held out the two scepters. Thoth was the god of wisdom to our people. He was my father's royal advisor on everything. My trust was deeply embedded in him. With my father's passing he would certainly be the one to guide me with all of the decision making as far as ruling goes.
I nodded. I grasped the two staffs In front of me. One was the Ankh, a symbol of life. All pharaohs bore this symbol. Next was the gold staff with the head of an Ox. The scepter Of Was as it was commonly called. I crossed them over my chest, ready to become Pharaoh.
"Do you, Rashida Eanqa Ra, swear to protect Egypt at all costs?"
Thoth asked as I was coronated. He stressed each word with such care.
"I do."
A gold plate was strapped around my shoulders. I was decorated with precious stones and symbols. Gold banglets were placed around my wrists as well to compliment the gold plate.
"Do you promise to give your life for your people?"
Thoth stressed onwards. I breathed heavily.
"I do."
Maids attended to my face. Painting the Udjat around my eyes and brightening my lips with red colour.
"Do you declare your loyalty to your people and not to your own desires?"
"I do."
At last the gold crown my father once wore was now placed upon my head. I let out a sigh of relief and peace.
"Long live Pharaoh Rashida Ra."
"Long live Pharaoh Rashida Ra."
"Long live Pharaoh Rashida Ra."
I looked at the people around me. My people to protect and care for.
Where do I go from here?
