"The prisoner has been secured in his place."

Thoth announced to me. Night had fallen upon the kingdom and fires illuminated the throne room. I gave him a raised eyebrow. I could sense something off in his words.

"Are you certain?"

I asked. I could tell when people were lying. I am a goddess after all. Thoth did not seem fazed by this question.

"Yes your highness, I am certain."

"Is he safe?"

This one did catch him off guard. His mouth opened slightly in surprise. Got him.

"Yes... of course..."

I nodded. I knew he was lying but I wasn't sure why. I dismissed him for the night. He bowed before me before leaving to rest. Once I was certain he was gone I got up from my throne and snuck out of the throne room. I sneaked through the dimly light hallways. My shoes making little sound as my feet glided lightly across the stone. I took a sharp turn and down a dark staircase.

I grabbed the rusty keys from notch on the wall. Down the dark and damp corridor I went. The ground now consisted of sand rather then stone and the torches that lit this musty area of the palace were more sparse, making it darker. Once I finally reached the dungeon door, a firm wooden one that was rarely opened, I pushed the key into the lock and turned it slowly until I heard the promising "click" signaling that the door was now unlocked.

I pushed it open and a loud creak echoed through the large room. There was a single skylight at the top of the single large cell that allowed the moonlight to wash over anything in its path. This included the Asgardian prince himself. I saw his body hunched over itself lifelessly. He must be sleeping. I walked over to the body who's breathing was slow and steady. I placed my hand on his shoulder. Suddenly he jerked his face around to face me. His blue eyes were clouded with redness. A signal of tears. But what hurt my heart the most were the red stitches sowing his lips together. I gasped.

"Oh Loki... What did they do to you..?"

The blood was dried around his lips and made his frown look as if it were a twisted smile. I felt a burning sensation in my throat as I tried to hold back my tears. I bent down on my knees so I was level with him.

"I'm so sorry..."

He pressed his forehead against mine and immediately a vivid vision crashed into my mind.

It was of Asgard, the throne room. Two guards held Loki as a man loomed over him.

"Make him never tell his lies ever again. I'm tired of it. All he does is spread pain."

A familiar voice demanded. I looked around and saw Odin was the one commanding this. Loki's face was emotionless as the man pressed something into his lips. I realized it was thread and a needle. I watched him thread the needle through Loki's thin lips. Once they were finished it was a perfect imagine of what Loki looked like now.

"Let this be a lesson to you, my son, that your lies get you no where."

Loki scowled as well as he could at his father and quickly snapped his head away from him. Odin sighed and signaled the guards once more.

"Take him away."

The vision faded and I was back in the dungeons with Loki. His eyes seemed so sad. I realized everything at that moment.

"This isn't the first time this has been done to you, is it?"

I asked pressingly. Loki looked me in the eyes before reluctantly shaking his head. I felt my heart sink. What have I done?

"Oh Loki, I'm so sorry. Please forgive me."

I could here him sigh and avoids my eyes as he looked up at the moon. The silver light reflected beautifully in his blue orbs.

I pressed a gentle kiss to his cheek before looking him directly in the eyes and taking his hands in mind.

"I'm going to fix this I promise. Come with me."
