I had closed my eyes for a mere second. I drifted off into a short light nap that was quickly disturbed by the sound of worried footsteps outside of my door. I jumped up quickly.

"Loki. Loki wake up."

I woke the sleeping prince. He stirred lightly in my bed, his raven black hair a complete mess.

"What?"

He hissed. His voice was laced with sleep and I could tell he was tired and did not want to be disturbed.

"You must get up, now. Please it's for your own good. Someone is coming."

He slowly got up from the bed and without my command he completely vanished.

"My Pharaoh."

Came a frantic knock at the door. I could tell by the tone and diction of the voice that it was Thoth.

I answered.

"Yes?"

"The prisoner has escaped."

He informed me, worriedly. I could see the panic on his face. I smiled, to his surprise.

"It is not the highest of our concerns. But it would do us some good to find him, soon."

Thoth seemed irritated by this comment but never the less he nodded with a slight bow of his head.

"Yes your majesty."

He then turned and trotted off to accomplish his royal deeds. I turned back to my room and let out a great sigh of relief.

"He is gone. You may come out now, Loki."

The prince revealed himself but to my utter shock he was inches away from my face. My eyes met his blue ones. There was silence for a bit. I could feel his warm breath washing over my chest as he looked over me.

"Did you get any sleep last night?"

He suddenly asked me, breaking the moment that had been so pleasantly set. I sighed but reassured him with my smile.

"Yes of course I did."

He looked at me skeptically. I felt as if he was reading right into me. Could he tell I was lying?

"How much?"

"Maybe an hour?"

"You must rest."

"No. No I must not. There are things I must attend to. Things I must see that they are done."

"What is so important that you must put your health on the line and not rest your body?"

Wait, was this care for me from the Asgardian prince? No it could not be. Caring was not his thing. He could care less if I died right here right now. Rule number one of mingling with Asgard, Loki always Lies.

"Is this sentiment, my dear prince? What has possessed you to care all of a sudden for my health?"

Loki scoffed at my comment.

"I can assure you nothing has possessed me. I want you well so that you may return me home so I can proceed with claiming my birthright."

"You can't claim what you don't have."

Loki suddenly snapped his head to look at me. His eyes were angry but within them I could also see the face of a lost and hurt child.

"I am going to be king. I was born a prince with royal blood. It is my birthright."

"No it is not, but it could be. Just perhaps not of Asgard."

Loki seemed confused. I stepped closer to him, almost closing the gap between us completely. He stared down at me with curious eyes.

"Become my king."

I whispered under my breath, so raspy and low only he could hear me. It seemed to catch him off guard for he did not answer right away.

"And if I deny you?"

"Then your brother will become both king of Asgard and Misr. And what would that make you? Oh yes, a prince, forever. Never anything more. Always one step behind of your brother. But this, this is your chance to win. This is your chance to beat Thor. Become a king before him."

Loki smirked. His eyes darkened and he pondered over the idea. He opened his mouth to answer but then a voice came from the hallway.

"Your majesty, you are needed in the throne room."

A servant announced. Loki pursed his lips and closed his eyes.

"This will have to wait, my prince. But my offer still stands. Think about it."

I stood up on my tip toes and planted a kiss on his cheek. I let my lips linger a little longer then usual. It allowed him to fully realize my actions. I pulled away and met his eyes one last time. They were now full of lust.
