Loki stood there as the queen sauntered away. He placed a delicate hand over where she had kissed him. His cheek was still warm from her lips. Perhaps the queen wasn't so bad after all. Her opinion of him had certainly changed.

Loki then heard voices from the hall. He quickly made himself invisible once more.

"I do not care what the Pharaoh thinks, find him. She won't be on the throne much longer if I have any say about it."

Loki recognized the voice as one of the ones from the dungeon, Thoth. He tried to step closer to the door in order to hear better but then Thoth entered the bedroom himself. Thoth looked around cautiously. It was as if he knew Loki were in there. Loki could have sworn that Thoth looked directly at him. But then he suddenly turned and left. Loki let out a deep sigh of relief.

Loki stepped slowly out of the room and into the hallway. But as soon as he did a Blade was put to his throat. Loki hissed as someone held him captive.

"Your trick is over, Asgardian. Reveal yourself."

Thoth commanded him. Loki sighed and made himself visible once more. Thoth chuckled lowly as he dragged Loki along with him.

"Once the queen sees that I have found you she will throw you back to the dungeons from whence you came."

Thoth hissed. Loki smirked at his comment and chuckled lightly.

"I wouldn't be so sure."

He whispered in response. But Thoth paid him no mind. Once the reached the throne room Thoth entered, rudely interrupting the conversation Rashida was having with one of her citizens. Thoth pushed the citizen to the side with no regard and threw Loki at Rashida's feet.

"Your majesty,"

Thoth began and Loki looked up at her. He met her eyes and they widened in slight shock. Loki only smirked.

"I found the prisoner."

"Yes I see that, but where, prey tell, did you find him?"

"I'm your room, your highness. We was probably looking for weaknesses to make an attack on you just like he did your father when he chocked the life out of him with his dreadful snakes."

Rashida's expression twisted. She gripped her staff tightly and walked down to them. Anger was present on her face. She turned to the others in the throne room once she met Loki and Thoth and shouted,

"Go. Leave us."

She hissed, her words dripped with rage. She looked down at Loki and then at Thoth. She walked over to him.

"I never told anyone that my father was strangled by snakes.. how did you know if I did not tell you and you were not there?"

She asked accusingly. Thoth's face reddened and his eyes widened slightly as well.

"The prisoner told me."

"Really? I don't see how he could have possibly told you when you sowed his lips shut."

She hissed. Thoth took a step back, now in fear of the queen.

"Your majesty, please, everything I have done I have done for the good of Misr."

"Was this good for Misr?! Disobeying your queen? Now I'm going to ask you a question and you better be honest with me, did you kill my father?"

Thoth looked terrified. He opened his mouth to respond but then shut it as he pondered the answer.

"No, of course not."

"Do not lie."

She now placed the head of her scepter
against his forehead, the rubies on it began to glow.

"You know, just like everyone else, I can tell if you are lying, tell me the truth."

Thoth was sweating. His forehead and chest glistened in the light of the day. He was nervous no doubt but he almost refused to give an answer.

"Tell me!"

Rashida roared. Thoth finally broke. His eyes became dark and magic sparked from his hands.

"Yes. I did. First I killed Ra. Then I was to marry you, but you seemed convinced to marry a prince of Asgard, you fool. Even after I framed him so perfectly. Then I shifted my efforts to have him seem guilty at all costs and have you still put him to death and if that failed I would simply kill you and let him rot in the prisons for ever."

Thoth smiled wickedly as he gazed at the queen. Rashida didn't move. Her face was blank as she recurved the answer.

"I will burn you."
