Our last class is the worst of all, it's math, where we have fixed seats which means I'm sitting next to Katie who absolutely doesn't like me. Riley sits next to Maggie and they have a lot of fun sitting next to each other, at least that's what I hear from their laughing and joking. Our teacher isn't such a hood either, he's strict, mean, old and he thinks you came into his class to make his life miserabele so he hates you before he even knows your name. 'Everyone open your notebook and copy the notes from the bord, after that I'll explain a little bit and than you can all get started on your homework.' He says strictly. After we've all copied the notes like well behaved students we listen carefully to his explanation and got started on our homework. 'Ugh a whole paragraph is to much to do in one day.' Katie complains. I pretend I didn't hear it and went on. Than Katie turns around to Francis who sits right behind her, they start complaining to each other and than agree with each other. "This could have been you and her if you just weren't such a nerd." I start to feel bad somehow, while she probably didn't even want to talk with me but my mind keeps telling me the opposite.
After math I went straight to the car so I could get home as fast as I could, to open Riley's present. 'So how was school birthday girl?' dad asked me while he put his hand on my shoulder. 'Oh it was fine, nothing special." I didn't want to tell him about the present, he would get too excited. 'Did you get a lot of birthday wishes, maybe some cards or presents?' He went on. 'Nah not really.' I was getting annoyed. 'Okay then.' He became silent. I love my dad I really do but he gets too nosy sometimes so I just keep my mouth shut about most things.
When we get home I run upstairs immediatly and close the door of my bedroom, thank god that Sady isn't here now. I grab the glittery blue box out of my bag and put it on my desk, it's so neatly and beautifuly wrapped I almost don't wanna open it. I carefully unwrap it and then see a purple box which clearly is a ringbox I open it and there was a ring in it, beautiful silver with a red heart on it which says the word: bff. I love it, I proudly put it on my finger. Just as I'm staring at it the words in my head come back, "fake friends."
