Chapter 24

'Lilian! Please help me out a bit sweetie!' Mom calls to me from upstairs. I run upstairs into my room and see mom is making the guest bed for Riley. 'Do you think Riley wants her covers with puppies or bunnies?' She asks me while holding up the two covers. 'Definitely puppies, she loves puppies!' I grab the puppy cover from moms hand. 'Alrighty then.' She smiles at me. 'Okay, you can put the pillowcase over the pillow and I will do the rest.' Mom says and hands me the things. 'Are you excited for your first sleepover?' Mom asks me. 'Yes yes yes! I am really excited and I always wanted to do this.' I couldn't stop telling our friends me and Riley were having a sleepover since the other girls could have sleepovers before they could, or well, were allowed to. The doorbel rings. 'That must be Riley! I'm opening the door!' I run downstairs as fast as I can but see Logan walking towards the door. 'No! Logan! It's my friend, I get to open the door!' I yell at him. 'Jeez, don't get mad....' He says. I open the door and Riley is standing with a gym bag in one hand and a pillow in the other. 'Hi!' Riley says with enthusiasm. Mom walks down the stairs and smiles at us. 'Alright my dears, your beds are made and ready for a great sleepover.'

'I get Timmy the tiger!' I grab the plush toy out of Riley's bag. 'Okay, then I get Cuddles the bear.' She says and grabs him from Sady's bed. 'No he's too big....' I tell her. 'Also if Sady comes in she wants to play too and she'll definitely want Cuddles.' Riley seemed to have understood and puts him back. 'Can I have Fifi then?' She asks me. 'Yeah sure but be careful because she's pretty new.' I hand her Fifi the little plush puppy. 'Thank you! Now let's play.' She says. We play for about two hours straight till mom calls us downstairs for dinner. We're sitting at the dinner table eating spaghetti. 'Did you have a nice time playing?' Mom asks Riley. 'Yeah it was really fun but we were waiting for Sady to come too.' She says. 'Oh, I thought you wanted to be alone so I kept Sady downstairs with me.' Mom looks at Sady. 'Yeah.... I wasn't even allowed to be in my own room.' Sady says with a baby voice. 'Sady can come a play with us after dinner, I just don't want Logan upstairs.' I say while staring at Logan with a frown. 'Like I want to play with you, ugh not in a trillion years.' He says. 'Be nice Logan, just let the girls have fun, you also still have some homework to do.' Mom looks at him strictly. Logan is so annoying, what does he have against me? I wish he could just be nice to me..... He always teases me because I play with stuffed animals while he plays with stupid race cars. Alright so he might be eleven and I am seven but why does that matter? Can't he just be a good big brother to me?

After dinner we played some more and watched a movie together with Sady and mom, Belle and the beast was the movie even though we all have seen that movie multiple times. 'Alright ladies it's time for bed unfortunately.' Dad says while he walks in the living room. 'Very funny honey....' Mom says to him smiling. 'But he's right, it's bedtime for you girls.' She turns off the tv and takes us upstairs. 'Riley this your bed.' I tell her and point at the mattress on the floor. 'Thanks haha.' We brush our teeth and hair and put our pyjamas on, after that we all lay down in bed. 'You can talk for a bit but not too long.' Mom says. She kisses me and Sady goodnight, turns off the lights and closes the door. 'Shall we talk or maybe play for a little bit more?' I ask to Riley and Sady. 'No.... I'm sleepy....' Sady says with that baby voice again. 'Okay but do you mind if I talk to Riley?' I ask her while putting my own baby voice on. 'Kay.....' She says and turns around. 'What are we doing tomorrow actually?' Riley asks. 'Dunno, maybe we go to the park. I'm not sure.' I try to see her face but it's too dark for that. I hear that Riley yawns but tries not to. 'Are you tired?' I ask. 'No just a little yawn but it's nothing.' She whispers. 'You can be honest, I don't mind.' I whisper back. 'Well okay I'm a little tired.' She yawns again. 'Then we'll go to sleep haha.' I tell her. I listen to Sady and Riley breathing while I'm trying to fall asleep but at the same time I'm also listening to the noises in the hall. I hear dad brushing his teeth, mom checking on little Alice, I hear Lisa going to the toilet. Then I hear mom checking on Logan, I know when it's Logan because he's always up when she checks on him, I hear them talk for a bit. These noises always calm me down to fall asleep.
