"Hi! I'm Cassena Wiltkin, but you can call me Cassey."
Its my first day as a volunteer here at the Salbert Language Camp.
I am extremely nervous when I woke up this morning, not because I would have to assist in a summer camp but because after a long time, AT LAST!, I will be able to meet (YES!!!!*dancing*) Prince Louie!! The Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Pelipia.
I was enthusiastic when I received a letter from the Salbert Language Org that I am going to be one of the staffs (since I don't know any language aside from english) in their summer camp this year. Its like a dream come true!
Thanks to Papai, my grandfather, who talked to the Duke about me being interested to be part of the summer camp.
Papai owns a coffee farmhouse here in Clemens, a town in Pelipia. He is one of the biggest producer and he is part of the Pelipian House of Coffee in Clemens. He is pretty famous because he sells the best coffee bean in town.
Well, Pelipia is a small kingdom with about less than a million populace. It is composed of 15 towns, each one having their own version of the Pelipian coffee.
Some made it taste milky, some minty, some sweet, some very strong, some fruity, some even tangy! Name it and we have it here!
Well, Papai's bean is in the sweet variety. His' tastes like caramel. It is actually really good because it is done in a dry process(where you dry the produce of the coffee tree first), its the top seller in our coffee shop in New York which my mother manages.
Every summer break I go here in Pelipia to stay with my grandparents, Papai and Mamu.
I stay with them in the farm every summer and help them with the production, and to learn a bit of my hometown, they say.
Well, this year, it wouldn't be like that, because I will be with Prince Louie!!!
Prince Louie helps to manage the language camp, that is his job as the crown prince.
Every year, they pick 500 children, ages 9 to 15, to learn new languages. They teach them Spanish, Mandarin, Hindi, Arabic, Portuguesse, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Javanese, and many more.
The royal family thought about this because of the volume of exports they do in different countries every year.
Most of the volunteers who teaches the children are Pelipians who migrated to other countries (Pelipians marrying people with other nationality.)
Pelipians are very loyal and honest but they mostly have trust issue when it comes to other countries. So they need some of their own to do the business rather than employing interpreters from other countries.
Ms. Waters said that Prince Louie would arrive here for the Opening Ceremony though I haven't seen him yet.
The Ceremony will start in about 30 minutes and I am am assigned in the Scheduling Department.
I have been running around the camp to make sure that everything is going fine and that we are right on schedule, and because of that I haven't had time to see if the prince has already arrived.
The horn blowed to call the attention of every one in the camp that the opening ceremony will start.
I RAN, FAST! THE PRINCE IS HEREE!!!
I sat at the assigned seat for the staffs, but I still haven't seen the prince around.
The program started and we sang the Pelipian national anthem. Ms. Waters lead a short prayer and showed a video about Pelipia and what the summer camp is all about. It showed pictures from the previous years in camp.
There were short introductions about the different languages that the children could learn, and which they should decide to choose after the program by placing their name in their chosen language fish bowl.
I still havent seen the prince until now!!!
**Intermissions from every language department.
***Introductions from every language department.
****Intermission, Introduction, Intermission, Introduction..........
*****Someone important from another town talked.
searching, searching..
AND THEN HERE IT IS! THERE IT GOES...
"POOK!POOK!"
Well thats the sound of the confetti, not the arrival of Prince Louie, and that means its the end of the program.
I guess no Prince Louie today.
