“Did you miss me?” Klaus looked at her, smirking and looking a little amused.
Her sadness turned into rage in a heartbeat.
“I didn’t. And do you know why? Because you’re an idiot and the reason that Tyler’s dead!”, she yelled, fighting the tears. She wasn’t going to cry in front of him. She was not going to give him this satisfaction.
“Actually, it was Rebekah who killed him so maybe you should stop blaming me for it.”
“Maybe it was her who killed him, but it was you who made her! Why couldn’t you swallow your pride one single time? For God’s sake, is it really that hard?”
“You know my little sister. She’s unpredictable and tends to overreact.” He grinned.
“Exactly. And you knew that before. So why take the risk of her doing something incredibly stupid?”
It happened so fast she couldn’t prevent him from pushing her against the wall behind her. He held her so tight she couldn’t move and now that he was so close to her she almost believed to see a little regret in his eyes.
“I. Couldn’t. Have. Known”, he hissed.
“Let go of me”, she said with a calm voice and added a sharp “Now!” to it. She wasn't scared. She knew he wasn't going to hurt her.
He took his hands off her but still didn’t let her walk away.
“ Why are you even here in Mystic Falls?”, she asked, curious about his intentions. “If you’re planning on killing someone, I suggest you better leave because I…”
Suddenly, his expression turned soft and he interrupted her. “I wanted to tell you that I’m sorry.”
She stared at him in disbelief. “Let’s not play this game, okay? Because this is not the reason you’re here.”
“You’re right. Well, the truth is that I thought now, that Tyler’s dead, you might need a little distraction.”
“What do you mean, distraction?”
“I want you to come to Chicago with me.”
“Are you kidding me? Tyler just died and you’re asking me to honeymoon with you?”
“You once told me you hadn’t really been anywhere and I would like to show you the world. If you allow me to.”
“No!”, she shouted. “ Did you really believe that I would come with you? You could basically kill me in my sleep! So if this is a joke it’s a really bad one and I’m not exactly in the mood for jokes at the moment. And now, would you please leave my house?” She pointed to the door.
“Fine”, he answered, almost looking a little sad, and was gone a second later.
